I'm with you Miz, except I use the Melitta cone, because it's just so easy and unbreakable, like when I knock it off the cup before I've had my coffee. For one cup, it is the easiest, low tech way to get a delicious cup of real coffee. I didn't watch the video, but I do wet the grounds and let them swell (for about 15 seconds or less) then pour the rest of the water over them. I have a cup of the best coffee possible in less than a minute (not counting the heating time in my electric water pot, which might be 2 minutes or so). Nothing to clean, the filter and organic coffee grounds go into the compost (I buy unbleached filters). If I am making a whole pot in a thermos carafe for guests, I do wash the grounds off the sides of the filter (a larger one I use for that) a time or two, after the initial wetting. Then I discard the grounds and fill the rest of the carafe with hot water and shake it up to make sure the plain hot water isn't sitting on top of the stronger coffee below. Everyone raves about the coffee served here. We are a very "good" coffee appreciative community. I don't know anyone with a Keurig or electric coffee maker. We all make it with a cone. I have no problem being called a coffee snob. Unless I can have good coffee, I'd rather not have any.

"I can tell you friends of mine Philadelphia Scrapple's fine ... try it once and you'll agree - that it's the food for you and me", used to be on the Detroit radio station (WJR?) that read the funnies on Sundays ... and many of the ones in Canada were the same. That radio program about advertising, "Under the Influence" with Terry O'Reilly is produced by Pirate Toronto and has appeared for years on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), and was/is part of the reciprocal programming that our national broadcaster carries on with PBS/NPR/PRI (Public Radio International). He had an interesting segment on the history and operation of the "Oscars" this weekend, including how Louis B. Mayer worked toward getting it started ... which happened in 1929, my year of birth, and referred to how Mary Pickford had a substantial hand in that, as well ... and won best actress a year of so later. Thanks for all the votes! It seems like the rectangular #1 or #5 in an oval (or maybe even round) are the front runners right now. Those are probably my front runners, too. I found another furniture store in the area that has the first table shown on their website, so I may try to get over there and take a look at the finish. I just am very reluctant to order such a large item on the internet and then have to return it!! One of my thoughts, tho, about using a rectangular coffee table is that the sofa is basically a rectangle and the rug is a rectangle, so I thought something round or oval would be better. I am totally open to changing the round, pedestal side table. I'm kinda ready for a change there as well. I have been looking on CL and so far, have come up with nothing. I'm also watching for something to come into the consignment shop where I volunteer. In the meantime, I'm going to visit a few more furniture stores and keep watching CL and consignment.
