Australian Native Plants

Desperate to find out what plant this is :)

I have found this plant on the side of the road and decided to replant it but am unsure what kind of plant it is. Does anyone know?

It seems to be a legume of some sort but I suspect it will need to put on some growth, flowers &/or fruit before an accurate description can be given.

A word of friendly advice: unless you're sure the plant you're removing from the roadside is a weed it's best to leave it in place. If it is part of a community of plants that are remnant native vegetation then damage could occur to that plant community by removing an individual plant. If the plant is a remnant of what used to grow naturally on the roadside it's far less damaging to get permission to collect a few seeds & germinate them for eventual planting in locations where the plant grows naturally.

Whereabouts are you? What was the surrounding habitat? It looks like a Sesbania, but there's a number of others that look similar as well.

The spikes are their inflorescence. I was wondering if this plant is going to blossom , turns out it is not. Inflorescence: The flowering part of the plant, especially the way its flowers are arranged in groups or clusters -- in this case, spikes. Spike: A form of simple inflorescence with the flowers sessile (without individual stalks) or nearly so on a more or less elongated common axis. I don't know if this will help, but I have also had what I would call adrenaline surges since starting perimenopause. They make me feel as if I'm really anxious, only it's not anxiety because one minute I'm totally engrossed in what I'm doing and the next I have an adrenaline surge in the center of my chest. I did some research on this on the internet and found a lot of women (I think it was on this very forum, a while back) who have experienced the same thing. Also, my first clue that I was starting perimenopause was what I've heard called "cold flashes", where I felt so cold I thought I was getting sick (like you do before a fever hits). Later that night, I had my first rapid heartbeat episode followed by night sweats. It's important to get checked out by your doc in case it's not perimenopause, but some of your symptoms sound familiar. Good luck!

Found it and bookmarked it. But oh my goodness! :-O I looked through some links within the site, then checked out some external links. Probably some of it is exactly what I want, but don't understand the procedure they use. And each one does it completely differently etc etc. So I've saved some more links including to a search I did. So have lots of possible info that I can try to look up lol. I might go to the Adelaide Botanical Gardens and ask them for some advise. They are just a short healthy walk down the road, exactly one mile :-)

I am in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, NSW. I'm sorry for the confusion, I should've been more specific. I found this plant in a pot on the side of the foot path, not growing wildly. Somebody had either left or lost the plant and I felt sorry for it

Thanks for the clarification, Matthew. Which, alas, doesn't help us with identification. If you plant it in the ground it may grow into something which can be identified later.

It certainly has the appearance of Indigofera australis. But is it too early in its growth to say definitely?

Let me advice you Woko, it is definitely Indigofera australis. I live with them, they are a dime a dozen throughout the Blue Mountains! PS, don't you grow as its "out of place" in SA.

Indigofera australis is indigenous to parts of SA, such as the Flinders Ranges & Mt Lofty Ranges. P275 6v, your confident indentification clearly indicates you are more familiar with this species than I am.
