I made an apple pie yesterday.

For a moment I thought "The Birds" had come to life!

Look at that absolutely gorgeous apple pie!

That beautiful pie deserves a delivery box like my daughter delivers her 'gift' pies in. However, Elizabeth, my DH will accept a gift apple pie in any wrapping, or no wrapping at all!

The picture of those birds by the hundreds looks just like it does around our house. Redwinged blackbirds, such noisy birds and what a noise when they all take off like that. They come by the hundreds, stay about 3 months and just strip all of our feeders. I will be glad when they are gone.

Explanation: Now the brilliant "star" in planet Earth's evening skies, Venus is captured in this creative astrophotograph. Taken with a close-focusing lens on January 18 from Milton Keynes, UK, it shows multiple images of the sky above the western horizon shortly after sunset. The images were created by water drops on a glass pane fixed to a tree. Surface tension has drawn the water drops into simple lens-like shapes. Refracting light, the drops create images that are upside-down, so the scene has been rotated to allow comfortable right-side up viewing of a macro-multiple-skyscape.
