I know this is an old post - but for any new readers who come across it (like I did) I do NOT recommend the Bissell pro Heat I have the Pet version and it's pure JUNK! I've had it 2 years and it's not used heavily (meaning I'm not using it every month) I try to scrub the carpets every 6 months - I have a hand held for spills! - It has broken down on me more times than I'd like to count 1st it stopped sucking up water, fixed that, 2nd the water tank that you put clean water into a "bladder" and the dirty water is supposed to go into the tank the bladder sits in - well it doesn't it all goes into the "bladder" (The clean water) so I have to empty it more often because it says it's full which it is but it's because it has more clean water than it picked up dirty but since it mixed together it's all dirty! - it's not supposed to do that , Third and most current issue(as of last night 2/6/18) The dispenser where you put your "shampoo" is not spraying out. I put a home made pre-treatment on before I used it (I just mixed generic oxy clean and water in a spray bottle, and soaked all the stains) I didn't have much carpet to clean in the room I cleaned but I'd say 4x4 area if that - I had to empty out the water tank 4 times! That should of not been emptied once room wasn't big enough to need to empty it out - when I was done, I took both canisters out so I could put just plain water, and do a rinse to get any left behind residue (I use LA Totally Awesome all Purpose Cleaner in mine, not any store bought rug cleaning solution) my solution was not used at all it was still 100% full , but I didn't know this until the end! However with my home made stain remover and just plain water the carpet does look a bit better! but it had nothing to do with the machine! I will go back to Hoover and Never buy another Bissell product again I swore off that brands Vacuum cleaner years ago! Yes in the after picture the carpet is still dirty but stains came almost all the way out without using any actual cleaning solution in the machine., So now I have to spray the cleaning solution all over the carpet by hand and then use the scrubber to suck it up, hopefully that'll get it the rest of the way clean

I have the H3060, the very first one on the page I linked to above. Don't be shocked by the price though; I bought mine brand new for about $75 less than what Hoover advertises it for. I like it a lot. It comes with two brush block assemblies, one specifically for cleaning grout. Hoover also sells a special grout solution too. It works very well, and never "reuses" water, so you're always putting down fresh water and dirt is never spread around. I guess the only gripe I might have (and even then I understand the design decision by Hoover perfectly) is that it scrubs very lightly. With brushes spinning at a very high speed there is a balancing act of pushing too hard (which could damage wood or linoleum) or pushing just hard enough to clean tough spots. Hoover erred on the side of caution, so any ground in dirt, scuff marks, etc. still require a pre-scrub by hand to loosen them up. Otherwise, no complaints. Spills, normal dirt, etc. are all picked up very well and the floor left sparkling.

I agree with boxers..1st off the mention of hd and lowes with the predicament you state....has you in the wrong direction. A 25 ounce builder grade nylon with a 7/16 6 lb cushion will do you well. Shaw store..ask for Zipp Plus....should be able to have it installed for maybe 2.19 sq ft. Good value. A box store can never give you that guidance..just forget about what you are looking for in a box. The shaw store will have to show you a deck board of it ...they will not have it on a card or swatches. If they show you Hawkeye, demand Zipp plus..same specs both Continuous filament and cost the dealer about a buck a yard less. They can install it for 2.19 sq ft..trust me..We sell it to builders for under 2 bucks installed but you will not get that price and rightfully so. SmartStrand will be quite a lot more. There is a SmartStrand called Powerplay that will compete with the price of the Shaw piece..doesent quite have the hand that the shaw piece has....but a great value. I am giving you inside info to 2 fantastic products at the right pricepoints that will perform for 10 years in the enviornment you describe. Now it is up to you to listen to it and HD or Lowes cant help you at that price to match up to these. Good Luck

We will have this problem this week. It's going to be interesting. Our living room furniture was put in the garage by my DS and his friends last night since he won't be home tonight and our tile guys come tomorrow morning. The three bedrooms without flooring right now will have things from the laundry and our master bedroom in there as well as some of the things from the living room. The tile guys will come get the old tile from out living room, hallway, master, both bathrooms and the laundry out tomorrow. Then we will be working with them and moving things around as they complete rooms. Each night we will make a plan on which rooms they will be doing the next day so we can get help in moving the furniture around.
