I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor.

Thanks for ideas! I've solved the problem using 1/2" FIP nippel and standard supply line. So, the final combination is (faucet - 1/2" fip) + (1/2" fip nippel) + (1/2" fip - 3/8" valve). I needed the second suply line anyway because the original one was a little bit short. Good luck all!

Their mistake if the design specifications and communications clearly indicated the trim and valves necessary. Is that literally the only shower trim that works with the valves. I agree that it is butt ugly and the finish is the least of the issues as it looks like the least expensive rental apartment fixture I can imagine. I went through quite a bit in determining exactly the configuration of the shower trim and consequently the rough which was necessary and I would have been beyond distraught if I were expected to use that hideous bit of shower because of the GC/plumbing error. It should be changed at their expense since there isn't any reasonable accommodation the homeowner can make in terms of selecting other trim that would work. I live in a condo and you can sometimes get your neighbor to agree to let you access plumbing depending on what is on the other side. For example, in my condo, in order to access the shower drains, it is necessary to go through my downstair neighbor's ceiling. I lucked out because my downstairs neighbor had recently died and the apartment was original and going to be completely remodeled so they weren't very picky about repairing the ceiling since my GC just had to patch and paint a generic white. It may or may not be easy to access and then repair your neighbor's drywall - your neighbor would have to grant access I think if your valves needed to be replaced I would think in the future but you should talk to either your manager or the Board to determine how to proceed.

Hello all, I'm a new homeowner, and a noob DIY-er. I am trying to replace a two-handle sink faucet with a one-handle (https://www.homedepot.com/p/MOEN-Kleo-Single-Hole-Single-Handle-Mid-Arc-Bathroom-Faucet-in-Chrome-WS84900/206690770). The supply lines have 3/8" compression fittings that don't fit onto the valves in my bathroom. https://imgur.com/a/gx1M98B Initially, I bought 1/2" adapters (tried both https://www.amazon.com/LASCO-10-0061-Compression-Adapter-2-Piece/dp/B0083GC574 and https://www.amazon.com/Delta-RP63263-Pex-Compression-Adapters/dp/B003MANGU6) but they were too big. I then bought 7/16" adapters (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-7-16-in-x-3-8-in-Female-OD-Compression-Brass-Reducing-Coupling-Fitting-800969/207176815) but they are too small. Can anyone please advise what I'm doing wrong? My only guess is that it should be the 1/2" but I need a specific washer. But I don't want to keep guessing, so I'm here to seek advice.
