They both look very nice! I have a kohler toilet and am happy with it. But if the toto is in budget then I'd say go for it. What's the price difference for the two?

The Toto costs $479 and the Kohler costs $349.

For a small price difference like that, I'd do it. As long as it's in budget of course.

To add. When I had my bathroom redone. The kohler toilet I ended up getting was $450 while the toto I was also looking at was $900. So ultimately I decided to save $450 and go with the kohler. But I haven't regretted my decision at all. The kohler toilet works and look great!

I switched from toto to Kohler to save a bit of $$. The Kohler works good. Someone usually links to the flush study. Kohler does great with that.

I have eight of that exact Kohler Memoir toilet in my house and we love them - the aquapiston flush is powerful and quick. I am sure either would be a great choice. It's nothing to agonize over - just get whatever fits your budget.

Think long and hard about that elongated shape. It may not be as comfortable and it may stick out too far if space is an issue.

We have that exact same Kohler, and have been very happy with it. I bought it on line (free shipping) and saved considerably. I don't remember where I ordered it from, though. Be prepared to change out the cheesy 1960's flush handle, though. Who designs a good-looking toilet like that and puts a cheap handle on it?

We have that Kohler as well!! It works fine, and is attractive. We had handles put on them that match the toilet paper holder & towel bars. Much nicer.

Have had that Kohler model at several house and love it, something I noticed is the tank is attached to the bowl with 3 bolts, better than the standard 2. Also plumber said that if their are any flush problems just change a gasket, easy and cheap fix.

Not saying you're wrong, but I have 4 Toto toilets (two different models), installed at various times over a 10 year stretch, and never noticed an issue like you're describing.

We've used both. I think Toto are the better option. Never heard of @builderpat's problem. I'll have to start asking all the ladies after they're done if it was an issue.

Hmmm. I'm a woman, and I can honestly say that I have never, ever, lifted a toilet seat after using the toilet to inspect the underside of the seat.

The both looks nice indeed. The difference in price is small, so I would just buy what first caught my eye. But according to this review Kohler toilets are a bit more expensive and weighs more, if that matters for you.
