Rug help for my living room...
Comments (10)Very pretty rug. Can you find a model number? Savafieh is quite common, but they make so many different rugs. I think you can go with bolder curtains and art because the rug is colorful but kind of subtle. As far as medium medallion, I usually try to stay away from it for the very reason you mention. Is a glass table an option? Other than that, I have a rug with a medallion and a glass table whose rim and frame sometimes covers it up --- and it's really not an issue IRL....See MoreNeed Living Space Area Rug Help!
Comments (6)Notice how big the sample rugs are. Don't skimp. They should slip under the front 1/3 of the seats and extend past the ends by a foot or more. Tape it out on the floor with painter's tape and measure. If it isn't a standard size, go up in size if you can....See MoreArea Rug Help Living Room
Comments (54)Wow!! Thank you Beverly!! That’s awesome what you did with placing picture on the wall, placing the rug on the floor, and placing it in different areas. We are a bit stuck on the location of our couch and rug, as we use a wheel chair (has to be open), but based on your pictures, i think we could go up to a 10 x 14 rug size instead of the current 9 x 12 (currently pushed back to the wall). I just have to make sure there is enough room to “roll” on the floor (without the rug getting in the way). I love the colors you posted, as well as the inspirational/idea photos!! I definitely like and want one or more of the colors you posted. There is a rug currently on sale that is very similar to the one your posted (aqua and ivory). It’s a 10 x 14 for only $220 (says it’s normally $1200) with a matching runner for only $48. It’s a shag style, BUT....... I “think” I really prefer a wool rug....See MoreLiving room rug help/suggestions
Comments (9)You could pick up the black and/or the khaki/olive. TBH, the backsplash doesn't appear to have much olive in it, but the kitchen wall appears to be much more olive, at least on my screen. Depending on what you would like to do, you could change the wall color in the kitchen, and/or change the backsplash or cover the splash with peel and stick tiles: https://www.thesmarttiles.com/en_us/tiles/ However, the backsplash does seem to sync up with the floor. So if you wanted to down play the olive, the easiest and I think most effective route would be to paint that section of the wall that appears to be very olive. But if you'd like to incorporate some of the green, it could be as simple as bringing in a vase in LR. For example, this floor vase has blue, olive, brown tones. And or bring in a plant or two. And or a pillow that has olive and maybe khaki in it. Or pick up the green with some art. The brown counter stools in kitchen can work within a cream/tan/grey scheme. But if you wanted to further connect the kitchen, as one idea, you could bring in some grey stools. I think charcoal grey in there. So, really, it all depends on what you would like to do. You can have a foundation of cream, tans, greys and pick up the black; Flo Mangan gave you some ideas for that. Or you could pick up the olive/khaki in the same scheme. Or both. It depends on how much you want to emphasize the black and/or green. But you don't have to bring in the green, khaki, black, etc . in a rug....See MoreDaina L
