Hi I dont live in Florida, but one way to get your bananas to fruit is having a high potassium fertilizer. I went to a feed store here and I saw some Sul-Po-Mag fertilizer which is great for bananas. its ratio was 0-0-22 it contained sulfur and magnesium also. I only have to use a little of it, I read that banana plants need no more than a lb of it each year. But it can be added to low potassium fertilizers. I think it was $6 for a 4lb bag. Its a granular fertilizer. I found alot of useful products at the local feed store. I dont know if that helps much but balanced fertilizers are great too. Cameron zone 8a, Tx

It's sad for the great outdoors. It needs lots more light and growing space. It was a hassle for me to plant my ornamental banana tree for years and then dig them up in fall but it worked out very good for them. I may have lost it after many years since I didn't dig them up last fall - not sure I want to go through the trouble again. Here are some photos when they were good sized (they get bigger each year). Cut the main stalk off for winter and don't let the culms dry out completely. A trug is usually what I put mine in for winter - bareroot. in the basement for winter. This worked out fairly well. I stored the large culms one winter in cardboard boxes and they dried up and died. The mother plant dies anyway so this was my last year trying to save the main stalk. I had so many that year that I think I had 7 spots in the very back of the lot.
