Hi there!

I have a Natchez Crape Myrtle planted too close to the house and I have a landscaper coming next week to move it out but while I'm at it...I'm thinking about planting a flowering dogwood (cornus florida) instead as I'm really trying to go more native. My question is I don't know if I have enough room. It's roughly 23' from the back of our deck to the fence (38' from the back of the house) and we're installing an irregular flagstone path so I don't want to be getting smacked in the face with low tree branches. I know dogwood has a pretty horizontal form and not sure if I can prune lower branches just to walk under??? Please help!
