Need Help with MB Sitting Room -- Pics
Comments (52)kiki how high does the niche in the fireplace go up? I'm seeing a beautiful print or a huge mirror in there. I'm a mirror over the fireplace gal. I keep looking at that beautiful bright room and something is not right to me. I think the furniture placement is not showing off the architectural features of the room. Listen to me, sound like I know what I'm talking about, don't I? Not really. However, I do watch a lot of HGTV (I hear the hisses and boos now) and I do pay attention to what the good designers say about furniture placement. Can you post a photo of the entire room or if it's too big, the other side that we can't see from the photo you posted? I hope you don't mind that I want to rearrange your room. It's so pretty, I just want to play with your furniture and accessories. LOL I know there are others with a better eye than I that can chime in to assist me in my quest to rearrange the room so the fireplace and those magnificent windows are not blocked. Les, you out there?...See Morehelp for a sitting room.

Comments (10)@Architectrunnerguy - Thanks! That's a great suggestion however the lot is very close to a historic district and although it's not necessary the city asked we be considerate and not design a garage that's prominent but instead design it so that it's in line or as close as possible to the front door. Our designer has suggested that we keep the foyer 7’ wide and the sitting room be 7.5’ wide and open to the side. We feel that it's too small and are hoping to get some ideas on how people have done their houses with similar restrictions @chispa - Yes please! It would be a great help! @Denita - That's a good idea, we're currently still looking and speaking to different architects however we haven’t found one that has had a creative solution to this. I was hoping that maybe someone in the houzz community had encountered something similar?...See MoreTurning Formal Dining Room into Sitting Area need help
Comments (32)Kristy - I think the new flooring you picked looks good. What do you think of the four club chair pic just posted below? Honestly, those set ups remind me of institutional settinfs like an airport lounge or a chain hotel lobby. I dont think they look all that inviting. I’d prefer two chairs and some other kind of seating....See Morehforghetti
