Plant with small yellow flowers?

The plant was bought at a local grocery store. It originally was covered in yellow flowers. They were growing quite a bit initially, with new blooms coming. Then the blooms slowly started to die without any new ones growing. This bundle pictured is new, but it's the only one. There appears to be new growth, but then it browns and dies. The leaves are growing just fine.

Try searching web for something like "begonia quit blooming" - I bet you'll get something pertinent. Bottom line is florist pot crops like this come out of production greenhouses where they have every environmental feature right for them, aren't necessarily sold with the idea that they will make good house plants. In fact producers would probably prefer such items were fairly soon tossed and replaced with fresh purchases, throughout the year - them functioning effectively as cut flowers bought growing in a pot.

The tall plant with the purple flowers is Russian sage, Perovskia atriplicifolia. You can leave it as is for winter interest and then if you want to make it smaller, cut it back to about 6" in early Spring. You'll get new growth and it will look a little tidier, but it is by its nature a loose, long-stemmmed plant. I can't really see the other plants very well, but I suspect the one with yellow flowers is a weed. But don't pull it out until you have an ID! It would be helpful to have pics that focus on the flowers, stems and leaves of each plant.

Hmm, looks a bit more like Melilotus officinalis, than Melilotus indicus (which looks stubbier)? If so, Melilotus officinalis is nonnative, but at least has many edible/medicinal uses... Thanks!!

here's a trick ...

next time.. buy a plant with one single flower in bloom.. and covered with a hundred buds ...

then you can spend the next few weeks watching it bloom ...

never buy a plant i full bloom ... the show will be short ..

it will rebloom.. but its going to take.. 4 to 6 weeks to rebud and bloom ... and there is nothing you can do to speed it up ....

all it needs between now and them... if PROPER watering .... give it a good drink.. and then let it near dry before you do that again .... i suggest a tray under it.. in case it leaks ...

i would bet a shiny penny.. the media is sponge like ... and holds a lot of water.. as such.. it does not need constant daily water ... the weight of the pot.. the loss of water.. will tell you when it is starting to dry ...

It looks like a tuberous Begonia. They can be temperamental and have no sense of humor at all if conditions aren't perfect. You might want to ask about this on the Begonia forum, if an existing discussion there doesn't inform sufficiently.
