Comments (35)no i'm a fire type. adult men who act like immature brats are not well liked, women find them especially unappealing. in this public forum you and eric impose your childish nonsense on a lot of people who are here to discuss herbalism, that's rude and inconsiderate. you've been asked many times by several here to stop to no avail, in essence that's the same as giving the collective forum the finger. ugh. feel sorry for the people in your lives. is that what you wanted to know herb doctor charlie? felt ugly to write it, don't ask again please....See Morecanker sores from sun exposure
Comments (7)yowz! i haven't been on the forums in awhile, but what an appropriate subject for me to comment on... since moving to the blasted desert, i have had a TON of sun-related complications. not only do i have a strict lotion regiment, but i got lips so chapped that applying chapstick sealed in a staph infection. by the time i got in to see a GP as a new patient, this thing had been raging for a month and it took another month look normal. THEN i got a nasty rash that i'm still waiting for the biopsy results for. as posited by the derm., it could be one of three sun-related conditions: lupus, eczema or polymorphous light eruptions. i've never burned in my life and i have darker skin so sun had never been a problem in oregon. i didn't start wearing daily SPF30 until march-ish but by then it was too late. i only walk 4-5 blocks to my building, but i guess that was enough. now i use SPF30 every day, wear a hat and carry an umbrella (like the asian that i am) and/or wear a long sleeved shirt. :P i'm on 60mg/day of prednisone and heavy steroid creams for the rash. i'm too dang young and attractive to have a gross skin condition! -ming WEAR SUNSCREEN!...See MoreTo all my packing helpers...Update on trip to Italy
Comments (9)I immediately thought of what Parma said about the european temps this summer when i read your post. I agree, there were good lessons rolled into your experience-- and not that you need my validation, but you made the right decision. I know this is a trip of a lifetime for you-- it wouldnt have been as enjoyable if you werent all feeling great. Hope your daughter is recovering well from the virus and her surgery. Maybe you can do something to whet your appetite in advance of your trip next spring. Maybe plan a trip into the city for an authentic meal. I LOVE Lupa-- one of Mario Batali's restaurants. It is not as upscale as Bobbo but it is a much more relaxed environment and the food is memory making. Of course there are so many great italian restaurants in NYC... many of which are smaller and less expensive. Perhaps you already have your own favorites. Another option I highly recommend is a walking tour of the italian neighborhoods of NYC. Addie Tomei (Marisa's mother) runs Savory Sojourns-- I have been on a few of her tours over the years. She is so vibrant and interesting and KNOWLEDGEABLE. Her tours hit some "must see" sites as well as hidden treasures... and the whole experience is peppered with interesting and entertaining narrations about the life and history of the neighborhoods. It is really a great experience and I think well worth the price (about 150pp). Or.. for a much more modest price, have a family movie night and rent The Big Night or Il Postino or Enchanted April or Under a Tuscan Sun (I didnt love the movie as much as the book-- but still it has gorgeous views of the Italian countrysides). Comments (69)I received the Spraway and the Bio-Clean. The Sprayway did take away the water drip marks and made the SS look nice. But it seems like it is a lot like WD-40 but with a citrus scent added. Do not spray it down near the floor or you'll end up with a slick, oily puddle. I will continue to use it because it is the only thing so far that has taken away the water marks. Bio-Clean.....I have a Toto toilet that has an area at the bottom of the bowl that a brush won't reach. I have tried everything.....vinegar, CLR, bleach, Coke. What has worked best so far are denture tablets but even they don't get the job done anymore. Well, unfortunately neither did Bio-Clean. It did take away one small spot higher up in the bowl though. I think if it were liquid instead of gel it may have worked better at the bottom. I turned off the water and flushed so there was little water. I squeezed a bunch into the bottom and let it sit all day. I flushed later that night and it took away just a little bit. Looks like I will have to empty the bowl and scrub it by hand....yuk! But hopefully Bio-clean will work with hand scrubbing. We have another Toto in the powder room that doesn't have the same broblem but it is also difficult to clean. They flush great, but cleaning is a pain. I'd really like to get rid of both of them....See Morearkansas girl
