I remembered the name of the yellow one a little while after posting, at least that is the name I am remembering, & went into Photobucket to label the photo before I forgot it again :) And the 1st double is Gemini Jack. I have a list of my daylilies written down, & tags beside most all of them. I've had Burning Daylight for so long, & in the same spot, who would think I could forget that one? It is a nice bright one, late too, so that's good. Blooms pretty well. Wedding Gown has really nice timing. It had its very last bloom today, looks like the rebloom scape will have a bloom tomorrow. It only rained enough to wet the grass, but it did cool it down. Supposed to be really hot again tomorrow though, then rain this weekend should cool everything off. Hope so, I think our upstairs AC is out. Doesn't seem to be very cool & we had some problems in the spring. Ah well, guess it is time for a new unit.

I have several Rudbeckias but I think I'll just grow Prairie Sun from now on, it's such a nice sunny yellow. I find that with the others, the colors tend to fade out, at least here they do. The Four O'clocks are called Broken Colors. I will grow both those and the plain ones next year, the smell is awesome. BIB is the first year plant so I was pleased with the rebloom. OC always does well for me. Marg

I'm not sure what the yellow/pink bicolor rose is. I was guessing Pinata or Granada...it has to be one of those Wal mart type roses so I'm unsure. I bought Winchester Cathedral as a band from High Country back in mid summer of 2009. It has more prickly thorns than large thorns. The plant does seem susceptible to mildew, but nothing too harsh. The blooms are nice and seem to be changing as the plant matures. Petals tend to blow quickly but it doesn't die out to a brownish color...the petals just drop. It is very fragrant with a very unique fragrance. Austin's description is quite accurate of honey almonds with a touch of vanilla. They stay fragrant too even after the petals have dropped. Queen of Sweden is new this year as a 1 gal RU order. This was the first bloom that I've had of it. So far the fragrance is on the light-moderate side, but detectable. Beautifully cupped blooms and QOS seems to be a more hybrid tea-esque grower with upright canes in a tidy bush from others that I have seen.

Thanks everybody! GINGER ROGERS is a great rose. She grows to about 5-6ft tall, if I let her go, and blooms pretty often. The blooms blow kinda fast tho. But the color is always so vibrant. SALLY KANE is interesting. She's a very strong grower, and peaked out (in a pot) at about 4ft. I think she might be a cool-weather rose. She does ok in my 100+ temps, but she's much happier in the cooler fall temps. The color changes too. She was much more of a greenish-cream in the summer, and has turned this yellowy-apricot now that it's cold. MAGMA is a good rose too. Also has more vibrant color in the cooler temps, but does great in the 100 degree temps too. Verrrrry long-lasting blooms, and nice tall plant (5ft).
