The Cathedral in Malaga, Spain

It was one of several that we visited during our recent cruise. It wasn't a goal, but we got off the Hop-on Hop-off bus for lunch and there it was.

The building was originally a Mosque, but was converted to the current use in 1487. Of course, there were many changes and additions through the years, but it is still and wonderful place to be.

My camera and some of the lighting were not working well together, so keep in mind that some of the colors are not true.

This is a bit more yellow than it should be, but the effect is still grand. Next time, I will take a different wide-angle lens.

The Chapel of St. Barbara. The altarpiece is the oldest, from the original structure. This dates from 1524, by sculpture Nicolas Tiller and painter Francisco de Ledesma.

Triptych of the Encarnatión by Cesare Arbassia (1580).

Organ of the Evangelio from 1778. It has 4500+ pipes and more than 70 feet high. All kinds of deco stuff on this.

I cannot find this in the guide book that we purchased, but I think it looks good.

My favorite. I took at least 10 photos of this.

The Beheading of St. Paul by Enrique Simonet (1887). It appears smallish here, but it is a large painting. Click on the picture to get a better view.

When I downloaded all 3600+ photos in December, I went through and kept about 2800. I put captions under each one so that this old man would be able to remember all the whats and whens and wheres. The caption I put for this one, "Cartagena last view." Another wonderful port of call in Spain. So much to see and do and only one day to do it. Since I don't do well with long flights, I will assume that I won't be back to this part of the world. One more port in Spain (Cadiz), but that comes after Gibraltar. We get a bit of a break. We don't arrive in Gibraltar until noon. We have no tour organized, it will be a day of simple exploring. After Gibraltar, we arrive in Casablanca the next day! This traveling the world can be tiring.

Wild Berries in Spain

Spain produces a huge amount of fruit for export, including strawberries. You say you want 'wild berries' do you really mean that or do you not mind cultivated forms of raspberries, strawberries etc? They are certainly available in Spain, although Malaga is pretty hot and you could have a hard time looking after raspberries there. The website below might be of use to you. Train don't go here no more. Kinzua Railroad Bridge. Have been going there for about 50 years. Since before it was a tourist attraction and you could walk the whole way across with no side walkway area or the high safety barrier on the sides. Have many pictures on slides from back then.

Dead Space in Spain

To me the partition would be better removed...(without knowing how the guest room is used ) it is obvious it is really hampering the room for daily living...things seem crammed together as you say...and there are open wasted and hard to use spaces that are too small to put to a use....my question under what circumstances and how often do you have guests...and would it be better or possible to give your guests your sleeping space as they may be more comfortable with the privacy?...and space?..then you can combine the sleeping and tv space more for yourself and leave all the open space for entertaining and dining ..a desk even?

Great pictures. The Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, is something you should see, if you ever get the chance. That is unbelievable.

La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is a huge building. Inside and out. Been there twice. I probably have 90 good photos of that church, which they hope to have completed in 2026 to honor the 100 year anniversary of Gaudi, the architect. They think that it can happen, I have my doubts.

Beautiful photos! Such an impressive sight - it's hard to imagine all that went into making it become reality back in the days when they had no power tools, no lifts, no electricity, etc. Amazing!

jim...To our eyes La Sagrada Familia, is breathtaking! We too, have many pictures. The cathedrals in Europe are spectacular.
