Comments (18)Niecey, love your pictures as always!! Wowee!! Where did you get PURE BLISS? I've never seen it available here in the US! Wish I could get my DAYBREAKER to look that good. Maybe next season. And I just discovered your SUMMER SUNSET is the same as FRANCE LIBRE, which I just got from Ashdown's this summer. Can't wait til mine looks like yours! Thanks for showing these. They're all beautiful! Leslie, unfortunately, it takes about 3 yrs to really evaluate roses. It takes some of them that long to show their true nature. Occasionally there will be some that just do their thing right off the bat. But that's actually a rarity. Also, some roses that survuve well in one area's heat, might not do so well somewhere else, even tho the temps might be the same. Soil condition, fertilizers, watering and other things factor in to whether a rose will perform well or not. Unfortunately, it's often a game of hit & miss. You almost have to experiment and see what does best for you....See MoreWhich apricot/orange rose?
Comments (14)Thank you everyone for your replies and suggestions. I'm hoping for a rainy day so I can research those roses with which I'm not familiar. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who has had a problem with apricot roses fading to pink. Some don't even have the decency to fade, they just go straight from apricot buds to pink flowers. I think I'll order a Brass Band on Magic Pete's recommendation, I'm not expecting it to climb, just be a shrub near Crepuscule. As for a climber, Barbara B, are you able to tell me something about Woburn Abbey's desease resistance? I've read about Oranges and Lemons but never seen a picture, it does sound lovely and a bit different, is yours still flowering now Kevarose? Thank you again, I'll let you know how I get on....See MoreApricot roses in the southern garden, show me yours
Comments (18)I was going to suggest Carding Mill too. Here's some shots from this morning. Great great bloomer. I agree with April on Heaven on Earth. Gorgeous prolific rose also. Mots pretty disease resistant but I spray. I bought Collette this yr and its suuuuuper slow blooming for me. Waiting for next yr....See Morenoseometer...(7A, SZ10, Albuquerque)
