I'll be interested in how you go. Have been trying something similar, with a yellow/orange/orange-red area but have had all sorts of setbacks. My main climber is Mrs Sam McGredy which I am trying to grow through a tree but I also have a number of reputedly orange-toned bush roses including Pat Austin, Playboy and Manx Queen. A real problem so far has been a tendency for everything to age to various shades of pink (I didn't want pink), including all those named so far.

What about France Libre?.
I havent had a problem with fading and it is a long lsating rose.

I have Woburn Abbey and it's a good orange. So are Monica, and Laura and neither of them fade. I also have Lovely Louise but have found the flowers smallish and she fades very badly.
Alexander is very bright but has monstrous thorns. I had to move him from beside our driveway.

As we all know ,most roses fade but Westerland will do the job if you want to get the hight of over 6-8 ft but if you want o reach heights of upto only 4-5 ft boy can I please put the good word in for Brass band.....It should of been called Wow!

I have "oranges and lemons" - the flowers are lovely and it is orange striped with lemon - reputed to be a big girl and mine is where others have died in the heat.

Climbing Bettina is lovely - mine is up at around 8 feet high now and flowers nicely on and off all year. It has been in now for just gone 2 years, so I am expecting greater things from it this year as it finally settles into it's spot.

Thank you everyone for your replies and suggestions. I'm hoping for a rainy day so I can research those roses with which I'm not familiar.
It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who has had a problem with apricot roses fading to pink. Some don't even have the decency to fade, they just go straight from apricot buds to pink flowers.
I think I'll order a Brass Band on Magic Pete's recommendation, I'm not expecting it to climb, just be a shrub near Crepuscule. As for a climber, Barbara B, are you able to tell me something about Woburn Abbey's desease resistance? I've read about Oranges and Lemons but never seen a picture, it does sound lovely and a bit different, is yours still flowering now Kevarose?

Definatly Westerland, an absolutely beautiful colour. Unmatched in my opinion and if you don't want it six to eight feet high, just cut i back.. works for me.
I would not be without it. It is beautiful.

Definitely 'Brass Band'. Consider a terrific bicolour 'Dame Elizabeth Murdoch', very bright gold/red. Healthy, floriforous, blends beautifully with Brass Band.

I have ordered 6 "Amber Nectar" which I saw at the Melb International Flower and Garden show this year. It is a smaller floribunda, with a profuse display of apricot/orange blooms, and looks similar to the apricot/pink "Sweet Dreams" which I also planted in a group of 6.

I second Dame Elisabeth Murdoch.

You could try Tropical Sunset, which is highly vigorous and disease resistant but sadly fragrance free.

But my favourite is Voodoo!

For just a small bush at the front of the bed have a look at Fruitee. I love it. Opens orangy red and goes a bit redder as it ages . Some fragrance.
