Dane JL not Thai Dane. yellow with red pointed layered edges sometimes 6 to 7 petals. The flowers are extraordinary - a deep gold in the center that goes through the petals, green veining when it first opens and changes to a vibrant red. Each petal curls inward to form a pointed tip. Upright growth habit with beautiful, full flower heads and a light sweet papaya fragrance. Must have heat to bloom correctly. Named after JL's grandson. Very fast growing. Recommended. Needs heat to bring out colors. Heat lover. Jackie aka Thai Jackie JJ: slow-growing and compact in nature, with very thick wood, and stunning, temple-shaped flowers that will vary in shape and even color with the season. Even its foliage is highly unique; wavy and corrugated. The flower (up to 4") is sort of a chameleon, varies in shape and color intensity by the season, but there's no mistaking the dense, wavy foliage. A slow grower with thick wood. Growth habit:: compact Scent:: light floral, fruity Peach scent..not super strong..but nice. Changes from one color to other color, start out with peachy blush on white petal then turn into yellow so you get multi-color in one bundle of flowers, nice textures, peachy red on the back of the petals. very heavy bloomer. Sounds like what I'm doing. I have 3 dogs approximately 60-70 pounds each. Accidents happen and my carpet is showing wear, not to mention the dirt and frequent professional cleanings. As much as I love wood, I decided to go with a laminate because they absolutely hold up. With wood, I think there's always going to be scratches and dings in the traffic areas. And with 3 dogs I have a lot of traffic! I'm not going to have huge area rugs, just one for the sofa, and one under the dining table. It's the dirt (and accidents) that is motivating me more. I'm also thinking that going with laminate, it's a lot less money, so if something happens I wouldn't feel so bad about about tearing it all out again for something else. I also plan on living in this house a minimum of 15 more years. When I sell, someday, then I'll revisit the flooring issue, or give a credit.

My big Dane Lab mix began having trouble getting up the stairs (carpeted) so I tried to escort him whenever possible. One day he took a tumble all the way down. It was so frightning to both of us. He laid at the foot of the stairs for a good half hour before he attempted to get up ( I was on the phone with the emergency vet). It ended up that he was fine, just scared and a little sore but I decided that I could not take the chance of this happening again, (what if it happened when I was not home and he was hurt)? The house is a split level ranch and luckily his yard was on the lower level. I blocked the stairs with a baby gate from then on. I could bring him around the yard and up the hill if he wanted to be upstairs. Please consider making those stairs off limits to your gal or at least where she cant go up or down without assistance. Puting a non skid treatment on them is not going to change the fact that she is no longer safe to attempt them herself.

omg I have pictures of all of my Danes in positions just like that!! they love laying on their backs and looking so silly. Cute! I have no idea why it put the pictures so small, they are on my imageshack storage and they have changed things recently so I need to check it out. I will try this one again. The Christmas one was taken by my neighbor in Dallas area, her son is the one in the picture, he was staying at my house dog sitting while we were in Louisiana one year. He loved the dogs. I prefer to have the dogs at my house so they feel at home. They sent me that picture by email while I was Louisiana it was such a nice surprise.The dogs are Magic and Voodie
