My 16th Christmas Craft Night!

What a fun time all 10 of us had! I invited my friends and also 4 from a second generation; my daughter, a friend's daughter, my teenage babysitter that is now a teacher and new mom, and the daughter of a friend that always came but passed away two years ago. We made so many chocolates and they were all so yummy! I really wanted everyone to make enough to separate and make gifts. Then we made the salt shaker ornament, which was a hit. I made chili, sandwiches, snacks and an Apple bundt cake. I think everyone left about 1:30am. A fun time by all!!

Comments (4)Here are some other ideas, though not all made from construction paper... Spray paint a paper plate gold. Have the kids glue an old Christmas card cut out in a circle shape for the center. Use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the top, add a ribbon or length of yarn for a hanger, call it a wreath. Cut a sheet of const. paper in half. Fold each half to make a Christmas card. Use old Christmas cards to decorate the front, then let the kids "write" a message inside with Crayola (washable) markers. Cut out Christmas tree shape from constr. paper. Put a tree-shaped tree in the center of a larger piece of contr. paper. Let the kids decorate the tree with paper punchies, yarn for garland, etc. An old favorite at our house: Save the red 1" tall plastic peanut butter lids from the Sams Club-sized jars. Fill with plaster of paris, stick in a pine cone and let it dry. Give each kid a bottle of glue and a pie plate (to catch the glitter) to decorate their "tree". Comments (12)I glued the Christmas tree down first, then added some Buffalo brand iridescent snow flakes. I covered the lid with gauze and then glued on a pearl trim. I unscrewed the lid and added the pearl with some string to hang the ornament. I have no idea where the snow flakes came from. They were in my craft stock pile so I used them. I can't take credit for this ornament since I found it on Pinterest (there were not instructions though). I have my main craft and my ornament planned, now I just have to plan my menu. I will buy all the chocolate supplies and luckily our cake supply store is having a Customer Appreciation sale on December 4th....just in time....See More
