We are hoping that the addition will blend into the style and period of the home with-in reason, we certainly would not want to short change ourselves with the end result of something we could have done. The corner windows in the dining needed to be above the height of the built-in seating so we are limited there. We were using the height of our night stands as a basis for the east facing casements that flank the bed in the MBR. Would that be a normal criteria? The 8' kitchen window could be made taller to 5', that would give a sill height of 23" instead of the proposed 30". The direct view out that north facing window is a small 20' side yard, our 6' fence, and part of the neighbors home. With the wide eaves and northerly exposure there would never be any direct sunlight. This area has been a tuff one in both design of the window and a appropiate covering for its size and the kitchen environment. Thanks tru blue for the feedback!
