Please help ID what I bought as Asclepias cordifolia - Heartleaf MW

I started from seed this past winter, what was sold as Heart leaf Milkweed seed - Asclepias cordifolia. Unfortunately, I don't think it is milkweed, or certainly no milkweed I can ID.

Would you guys take a look at the small plant and the remaining seed and see if you could help me ID the plant. I believe there are actually two young plants growing right next to each other. If I remember correctly, there were originally 5 seedlings and only the middle two seedlings lived through my summer absence. The leaves look like some type of Hydrangea to me. After searching online, I am almost certain this plant is not a heart leaf milkweed. The seed has a rather hard exterior. I had the container well marked so I don't think that is my problem. Come next season, I guess I'll get some clue if it blooms but thought someone here might recognize the plant. My thanks for looking. .. Mary
