Really nice pictures this morning. Mine is a picture of Jake and the halibut he caught. He was our cook on a little cruise ship I was on in Alaska.

It's a great photo! I hope you both have a hard copy stored away and/or framed. That's the kind of photograph that Life magazine and others of that genre were so popular for. My compliments to your son...as well as your photographic GS. I'm sure your son passed the photography course with flying colors. He has a wonderfully artistic "eye". That photo is truly a treasure! the garden/back yard is actually very small. Just in an older neighborhood, with the average size small back yard. I just enjoyed taking all those different shots, cause I knew, I could share them here. Chris has just about one of EVERYTHING in there... but right now, it is kinda empty, cause all those potted plants are in the house, green house and the garage. You can't hardly walk through their house till next spring. :) Moni

Socks - this is an actual apartment (if you can call it that!) and yes, is extremely ornate. Napoleon III didn't live there, since the rooms were used for entertaining and housing guests of the State. The apartment was built between 1854 and 1861 by the architect Hector Lefuel and refurbished in later years. The Louvre was the residence of the Kings of France until King Louis XIV moved to the Palace of Versailles in 1682.
