Hi! Merlin RO system! Somebody may have the different experience with it but I am pretty much disappointed. After much endeavor to install it, the result is; water tastes pretty bad, no one wants to drink it (out of 20 people who are meant to use it in our place). Those like me who tried it have got the stomach upset. I flushed the system before use as it is recommended but water still has bitter, chemical taste, after a week or so. System doesn't leak, so far but it is unusable. This system also wastes 5 gallons of water per every one gallon it produces, so it is pretty much a waste. I want to warn garden webbers about WS Bath Collections and Modo Bath. Wael, of WS Bath Collections and probably the WS in WS Bath, was extremely rude and unprofessional in the handling of an order that was placed with Modo Bath. Tried to get more spec information from Modo Bath prior to placing order. Manager, George, provided incomplete and incorrect information. We proceeded with the order with the promise that the items could be returned. It became complicated when the items turned out to be other than described by George. Stay away from these two companies.

I think you all are spot on. Even with the high loops, we're still getting some backwash. It's all about pressure...the high loop is designed to accomodate the pressure caused by gravity pulling on the fluid in the hose. However, once the fluid from the other DW draining comes into play, it's not only the weight of the water, but the force of it being pumped out as well- and that's just too much for a high loop to handle. We also don't like the disposal hooked up to the smaller side of the double sink- we let the installer talk us out of having it on the larger bowl and have regretted it ever since. Sounds like we need to find a good and flexible plumber to redo this mess. We had one plumber take a look at it while he was over to quote us for a different job and all he did was go on and on about how it wasn't to code because there was no airgap installed (untrue!) and how no DW would drain properly without an air gap- untrue! When I asked about a Johnson T and he didn't know what I was talking about I knew we needed someone better that at least knew as much as or preferably MORE than I do about plumbing. Also, one more thing: I just want to thank everyone here in Kitchens again for being so amazingly helpful and taking the time to respond. Even though we did our kitchen in 2006-2007 and I was a regular poster through the beginning of 2009, I love that I can get such help after being gone a year, and knowing that I would get the same quality of help even if this was the first time I was ever posting here. I recently posted some plans in baths and building a home (we're planning a large addition) and got almost no responses....that really drove home how amazing this kitchen forum really is. Thank you!

Yes, here is a picture. I wish the water handle was closer to the faucet, but there was a bracket for the sink at 6", and my SO was afraid 4" would have been too close so we went with 8". In our old set up I liked having the option to put a pot or measuring cup on the counter because the water didn't have to drop as far down into the deep sink when filling something. It would splash. This is a new RO system and the faucet is really high, so that may be even more of an issue now. However, we have Prolific sink with shelves, so I can probably avoid needing to use the counter, since we can set things higher than the bottom of the sink on a cutting board or drain board. I have had flooded counters before in the old kitchen and I'm going to try hard not to let that happen in the new kitchen. I will probably try to make it habit to use the sink instead. I still wanted it closer to edge just in case.
