Please review our Appliance Package - brutal feedback welcome!
Comments (5)This is an odd combination of high end and low end appliances. You state that you are not adamant chefs but are spending a massive premium for a dual fuel range to get an electric oven, which makes up almost half your budget. For 99% of people a good gas oven works just as well, much cheaper ,and much cheaper to operate. If getting an American Range the Performer Series is the one to get. And you can upgrade your game room beverage center to Liebherr and get a much quieter fridge as a result. Plus upgrade your dishwashers. If the purpose of the dual fuel is because a self-clean oven is an absolute must I would look at Capital Culinarian. Save over $1k for that Liebherr beverage center or upgraded dishwashers. Plus get a motorized rotisserie in your oven. I love my Liebherr All-Refrigerator. I love my Sharp MW drawer. I would absolutely go to your local VAH dealer and see how you clean the hood. Some people like the newer design and some think it is a major PITA to clean. If looking at low end VAH I would get Best or Kobe. If looking at high end VAH I would get Prestige. There is a laundry forum with experts on those appliances. I don't like LG because of how their customer service deals with recalls and defective machines that should be recalled but are not and their habit of telling customers with problem machines to pound sand. I would look into the new GE RightHeight laundry. Made in the USA and benchmarked to all the currently USA available laundry machines. If you are not comfortable buying first generation appliances and want something more tried and true I would get the equivalent Samsungs....See MoreQuality Cabinets brand: feedback/reviews?
Comments (10)No, I went through a cabinet company that sells different lines as well. I am pretty sure it's the same company. I've linked the website so you can verify. Yes I was satisfied with KM, however, I only have three cabinets from them in another bathroom. Have you looked at Schuler cabinets from Lowes? They are made by Medallion. The nice thing is that many of the upgrades are included so you don't feel nickled and dimed to death. They were not much more for my quote than the KM. I think right now they have 50% off the premium finishes. At this point, I am probably going with Medallion. While buying horse feed one day, I noticed a building supply place next door. So I walked in with my scuzzy jeans, dusty clothes just to get a business card. I ended up there for a half-hour with the nicest lady. She said she used to see all the lines but found that Medallion almost never came in damaged. She mentioned that as being the biggest complaint from customers. Obviously she is right. And the quality is excellent. She insisted on giving me a quote even thought I told her I was skeptical she could be reasonable. I sent her a floorplan and she gave me a quote that was right in line with my budget. It was an apples to apples comparison with KM, American Woodmark, and Schuler because I had the list of cabinets and special features I wanted in list form. Keep shopping. I think you'll find just what you are looking for in quality and price. Here's the QC website. Here is a link that might be useful: Click...See MoreHouse Plans Review - Invitation for Feedback
Comments (38)"crowd sourcing" is an internet term for a problem solving technique that has been a standard procedure of design professionals for more than a half century and perhaps much longer. For those who have not been formally trained in its use, the aspect of it that is usually omitted on the internet is a moderator or leader who has the task of formally defining the problem including any solutions that have already been eliminated. What often results on an internet forum are conversations and arguments between the team members due to the absence of a formal moderator for a particular session. In fact, discussions often ignore the original problem and drift into other issues. In short, despite the power of the the internet for group problem solving or crowd sourcing, human nature cannot resist the opportunity to chat....See MoreRMR Mold Remover - Any feedback, review?
Comments (0)Need to remove mold from attic sheathing. Builder used DUCT tape to attach bath exhaust fans to roof vent, duct tape failed in a hot/cold attic. I have since clamped the ducts to the vent using hose clamps. Attic Sheathing near area has some black mold spots. 10 years ago when I discovered this I was told I'd have to spray bleach and scrub and pray or pay $5000$10000 to have somone come out and 'mitigate'. I tried Concrobium on some mold but it didn't work so well. Fast forward to several years later and as I am up in the attic I see this and wonder what is out there on the market and I found this RMR which has great reviews (Rapid Mold Remover), supposedly removes the mold stain and kills the mold stain doesn't come back. Anyone use this here and have any first hand experience?...See MoreElite Interiors & Furniture Gallery
