Dough Freezing Question

last modified: 9 years ago

I make chapattis about 3 times a week to enjoy with curries. I only prepare enough for about 6-8 at a time. The mixture is simply plain flour, a dash of salt and vegetable oil and water, kneaded well and rested for 30 minutes before rolling out flat circles and then dry frying them.

But it's always a little messy in my tiny kitchen, so I'd like to make a much larger quantity of the mixture, roll the excess into sausage shaped lengths, wrap in plastic-wrap and freeze. My idea is that I could thaw these out, cut into golf-ball sized pieces, then roll and cook.

I know there are many expert and experienced bakers on this forum, so my question is, would it be feasible to do this freezing process and still have successful results?
