Comments (3)Stop at your local auto/body or car paint shop. Tell them your dilemma. Would think you more or less have a the same final sanding a car would have and maybe you could polish it out. They'll have the good quick buff it out stuff. I'd just use plain old liquid car polish and lots of elbow grease hoping not to see base coat before rolling it outside and spraying it with epoxy paint. Or getting an artistic person to paint me some night time moon/water/palm tree scene on the front....See MoreAnyone seen Ugly Finished Kitchens here?
Comments (147)padola, I'm usually good at picking up on tongue in cheek humor but sometimes I can be pretty obtuse. So I looked back at it from that angle and I have to say, though I could hear the lightness in your tone now that you say it, I still don't see how most people would be expected to see the joke in it. However, I believe you when you say that's what you intended. There is still plenty of room for appropriate humor and opinion in many other places on the forum and I do trust, as you say, that it will be injected in the right places. I find people here to be refreshingly honest and even blunt (rarely in a rude way) when necessary, when asked for input on the planning process for someone's k;tchen. Sometimes those opinions are unsolicited, but usually they are sought. And I rarely see anyone who asks for input get defensive and outright refuse to consider a suggestion without good reason (e.g. walls are set, can't be moved). Sensitive, maybe; unreasonably so, generally not, especially during the process. I have seen plenty of FK posts where the person will list what s/he would have done differently and why. That's a different story. When I said "back down", I didn't mean you had to change your opinion, just asking you to consider your tone. What I am hearing in it is that you feel it is you against the forum, and I was trying to point out that that doesn't have to be the case, that others here will be glad to help you, but if you are coming in with a sense of "I know you all don't like me, but...", it will come out in your future posts....See MoreJust finished a weekend of painting with Ros...
Comments (13)Luvs, she didn't shade around her pearls but now that you mention it I will be doing a little extra work. Our little booth in the antique shop doesn't sell painted things very well but I have no place else to sell at this time. The consignment gift shops want 30% and that is a bit much for me. I will also put it on my ETSY shop. Joan, our chapter hired her for only 2 days. We would never get enough people to paint for a week but I would love it. Check and see if they allow for several days rather than a week. You would be fine in her class, several our our members were not good painters but she helped them. You should check with the place they are having the class to find out what you need to bring. She sometimes furnishes the paint. And we had some people wearing old painters smocks, their husbands shirts, aprons, etc. I am not a messy painter and I wore my regular every day clothes. Now when you get all the info, post it here or email me at angelbrush1@yahoo.com and I will let you know if you are missing anything. Normally it is your regular stuff and she will also give a list of the size brushes she uses. I know you will really love it.
