I'll Show You Mine, if You Show Me Yours, Mon., Oct. 20
Comments (14)Fantastic pictures. Thanks to everyone who takes time to share. Vicki, that is really so special that those horses are not too shy of people. Do you give them a carrot or apple? We used to live in an area where there were wild burros. They would come up to you and let you touch them a bit, but some would bite, and you had to stay away from the rear feet! But it was fun to be with them. Sometimes we would throw out a bale of alfalfa for them. Susan, you live in a stunningly beautiful area. We're in the city--block after block of development. Living in an area like yours must really lift your spirits--the fall colors, the open space, fresh air. Lucky you!...See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Mon Oct 21

We all went to a Japanese teppan restaurant after the ceremony. My son and his girlfriend. Here is the chef cooking up lunch. My son in the foreground of this photo. I am raking and piling them to shred them to put in the flower beds and vegetable garden....See MoreI'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Mon Oct 7

They will always come back to the same spot and sit, taking flight to defend the area whenever another hummer comes close and then back to its resting spot. I've gotten very close with this approach, but it also helps to have a nice zoom lens. I use a 70-300mm zoom. Took many, many photos like this in my backyard where a family of Allen's hummingbirds (like the one above) made their home this summer. Jodi-...See More- 9 years ago
