Comments (24)That really tripped my triggers when you mentioned the signs went up without your permission. Where on earth do people get off? We have given a friend with a business permission to keep a sign on our property. It was like it opened a floodgate, however. This summer it was joined by two real estate signs (one homemade and one from an agency), and a fishing worm sign. When I removed the one real estate sign, then the other sign we had given permission to be there, was vandalised and stolen. I still suspect vindictiveness and retaliation by another one of the sign owners who didn't ask permission to put up their sign there. I'm sure it cost our friend hundreds of dollars to replace his. Why is it that people think if property is in the country, then it's public to use? Belongs to nobody? That things like the grapes and berries are wild? I think they think that since it's in the utility easement that anyone is free to use it. I got news. We own to the middle of the road. That's how our deeds read. Easements for public domain work like electric and gas, don't imply we have no control over every inch of the property in every other respect....See MoreHELP!!! Comments (14)Thank you so much for the input...after putting in the names of all the tree in the image search I think I have narrowed it down to the Crape Myrtle and the Chinese Pistachio...any thoughts?!?! Does anyone know if the Crape Myrtle flowers attract tons of bees? Are any of the following Trustees Realtors? Should be easy for you to find out. (From this Realtor, their rationale does not make sense where I live, but maybe where you live) Trustees- Bode, Klem, Marshall, Philbin, Sokol and Fallon and President McClure Oak Park, IL. Village Code 13-2-3: REAL ESTATE FOR RENT AND FOR SALE SIGNS PROHIBITED: The President and Board of Trustees find as follows: A. That a prohibition of "For Sale" and "Sold" signs has been recommended by the Commission on Community Relations on the basis that said signs tend to encourage unfair housing practices and tend to defeat the purposes of the Village's Human Rights Program. B. That a prohibition of "For Rent" signs has been recommended by the Commission on Community Relations for the following reasons: 1. "For Rent" signs presently are used more frequently in areas that have a greater percentage of occupancy of minority residents. "For Rent" signs are seldom used in connection with buildings that have no minority occupants. The use of these signs therefore tends to "signal" that minorities may be more welcome in some areas of the Village than others and this tends to segregate areas contrary to the policy of the Village to maintain an integrated community. 2. A proliferation of "For Rent" signs encourages panic peddling and block busting. 3. "For Rent" signs may give an appearance of community instability when concentrated in a limited geographic area. 4. A proliferation of "For Rent" signs may infer that an area is less desirable than other areas. 5. A system of apartment management that refers tenants to the source of rentals will encourage greater professionalism in apartment management. It shall, therefore, be unlawful for any person to construct, place, maintain or install a "For Sale", "Sold" or "For Rent" sign on any property developed for residential use in the Village. The term "For Sale" sign shall include signs carrying the following or similar words: "Open House" or "Open for Inspection" and shall include any other devices placed on the property to indicate that the property is for sale. In the case of new construction of residential property or conversion of an existing structure to condominium use where a condominium declaration is recorded, a "For Sale" sign shall be permitted on the property until the property or condominium units are sold, but not to exceed one and a half (1 1/2) years after issuance of a certificate of occupancy for a new building or from the date the "For Sale" sign is posted in the case of a conversion. Comments (16)@ gardengal-we have had mega-problems with A. rubrum right here in normal, everyday E-Central WI. Our soils run towards the circumneutral and red maple sits and sulks forever here. I don't say these things just for the heck of it, or that other H word for that matter. I know Pennsylvania-like eastern WI-can have lots of limestone outcroppings and near-neutral soils. I wouldn't waste my time-under such conditions-with red maple. If OP happens to not be in such an area (limestone bedrock near the surface), then it might make sense. Freeman maples-including the naturally-derived legacy trees I see all over this area, have no such trouble. Redmaples, on the other hand, are well-established poor accumulators of iron and manganese in soils with a too-high pH, even where those two mineral elements are plentiful in the soil, which is exactly the case here.
