Hi. I was going to post the same question and was glad to see this thread started. Thanks, panchoandlefty! :-) I have an island cooktop too and cannot put in an overhead vent (I wish!!!) I need a new cooktop in my island and am looking to put in a 36" electric or, if I can afford it, induction cooktop. I am stumped on what telescoping vent to get. Are there any that are definite no-nos? Particular models where the telescoping part breaks down? I'd like to avoid the higher end products, as I am already over my kitchen budget. However, I don't want to compromise performance - I just want to know that if I spend more $, it's because it's warranted in the performance I get and I'm not just paying more for a name. How are the GEs or Kenmores in performance? My current vent has only one bend with an 8' run. Finally, to repeat one of the original posted questions - does it matter if the cooktop and the vent aren't by the same brand? TIA!!

It depends on the style you are getting. Look at the first picture and how wide the edge detail and scooped part of the raised panel is. If you tried to do that on a narrow drawer, there would only be a small strip of raised panel to put the pull on, or maybe none at all. It depends on the depth of the drawers and how much detail is on the edges. I think some styles need a minimum depth to be able to do the raised panel design. We went with flat panel on our top drawers when we refinished our existing cabinets and replaced the doors/drawer fronts. Decide what to do after you know exactly the style you are getting. Hopefully they will have pictures or drawings of narrow drawers to help you decide. If you want all raised panel, you may have to adjust the size of the drawers to accommodate the drawer profile.

kitchen is a bit on the smaller size...the home looks traditional in aesthetic. I would work w the warm bronze of faucet and pendants. If you pick a slender diameter it wont be too much of the bronze....it will be the best touch on the nice cabinetry and overall pleasing compact kitchen. Dont care for the black so much in your space. find the right bronze. the 1st looks chunkier but it has that gentle return at the ends which might be nice. Your faucet is colonial so maybe modern shape wouldnt be quite right. Just browse thru "top knobs " "hardware hut" or other sites.
