A question for those of you who work in the field of horticulture

So I know many people like gardening as a hobby but I have a question for those of you who have a career in horticulture. So I have just graduated from college with a B.A in geography but I slightly switched my career path to horticulture. Having no luck finding a horticulture job despite interning in two relevant places, I am thinking of going for further education in horticulture. There are two things I am looking at now and wondering which would be more beneficial for employment: Masters degree or a certificate from a horticultural school? The masters degree is an online program of 36 credits and the horticultural school is actually called the New York Botanical Garden and they apparently have a very good education on horticulture there. So if you were the person to hire someone for a horticultural position, would you be ok with a certificate or does it have to be something more advanced like a masters degree?
