Hi Sam! For my plants, ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD... That is an understatement. My water carries salt despots, fluoride,chlorine, and the pH is very high. In my case, if I use faucet water on my plants, the pH is too high, and the deposits from my water can stunt growth along with cause brown tip on many sensitive trees and plants. My gardenias, ferns, palms, peace lilies, and philodendrons in particular react poorly over time with faucet water. That is why I will use distilled water if I can, or use rain water and fill 30 gallons buckets to hold me through the winter. I had just enough rain water left over the long winter by sacrificing some of my not so important plants to faucet water, and this is the result. Notice the tips on the first two pictures of what other wise is a very green plant until I stop using rain water. This is growth over the winter with faucet water. Even worst if you use a bagged mix. Incredible difference with rain water as the new growth and growth since I switched to rain water is now coming and staying green to the very tips. Mike With RIAN WATER..:-)

You could spray with a sharp stream of water to knock those Aphids off at noon of you wished and the only harm done would be to the Aphids that got knowcked off. Spraying with anything else in bright sunlight can create conditions that results in phytotoxicity whihc can result in the plant dying. On really hot days many plants would do much better if sprayed with water to cool things down and slow the transpiration of moisture which if excessive can cause wilting.

I was afraid that with 20kw of heat strips if it ever goes into second stage on the strips (all of them) that the strips would fail. It is on medium blower speed and I have three taps on the motor. The ductwork is sheetmetal rectangle trunk with 6" distribution legs with 4 returns on 1850 sq ft. I guess if I am going to try the low speed tap it would be best to do it way before I will need heat. I can't hear anything from the return ducts but you sure can hear the supply ducts. It is so loud we have to turn up the tv when the air or heat comes on. I wish there was a variable tap speed control so it could be on low for a/c, heat pump or first strip stage and a high tap when the 2nd strip stage kicks in and the pump kicks off. I have searched for a variable speed fan setup to retrofit but have had no luck and think that would be a headache to get set up right. I wish the builder would have at least put a tempstar unit downstairs rather than a no name icp air handler.

Carrier makes so many 3 and 4 ton coils, what model numbers are you talking about? Do they have a TXV, are they tin plated "A" or "N" or flat, up flow, down flow, horizontal coil??? The infinity 96 furnace is only 96% AFUE in the 40,000 Btu size. The rest of the sizes are less than 95% AFUE.
