Ivy geranium corky brown spots

What might be causing (or caused) these irregular raised corky brown spots on the undersides of my plants older leaves? The leaves do not yellow or drop off.

The plants are on a covered porch receiving afternoon sunlight until dusk. They have grown and bloomed vigourously. I see no signs of bugs, mites, mealy bugs, or scale.

I planned to bring them indoors for the winter months. Might it just be stress enduced?

The sunlight they were receiving was quite intense and they were sitting in water when i got back from vacation. My neighbor had overwatered them so they had lost some roots to rot. They dwindled for about a month before regaining full vigor.

I didnt think much of the spots until recently. I hope it's not a virus of some sort. Some of the newer leaves have spots too but the most vigourous branches are free of them.
