I got a problem with my garage opener in past few days. I can close the door when I leave for work but cannot open the door when I come home. At first I thought the trouble is caused by cold weather. Then I thought is the board gone bad. However, when I get the remote close to the antena, everything works fine. Finally I observe that my garage door open/close indicater(Made by Craftsman) both lights are flashing(red and green). Therefore I disconnet the AC power on the receiver then test out the garage door remote. Surprisely, everything works like a charm. The trouble is caused by the unit that attached to the garage door runs out the battery. I bet the receiver unit was sending signal to find the door unit consistenly which interferences the signal of garage door remote control, including my keypad door opener. After I replace the battery on the door unit, everything is back to normal. Just want to share with anyone who has the same situation. Signal interference will cause the trouble to remote control.

I have a used Sears opener I put in approx mid 1980. Recently the remote stopped communicatinting with the receiver in the garage. I was able to get good results from tips shared. 1. Ck the circuitboad in the remote very close for broken solder joints. Some breaks are easily seen as lines, allowed movement, related to lines and compoinants. I took Pics and zoomed on the computer and used magnifying Etc an both saw what my eyes alone were mising. With each break found and soldered I saw progress as a light working or Etc.. Finally the remote worked close to the receiver vs from the street. I was told to tweek the Radio Conrol screw with a plastic screw driver and I finally could opend the door 20' away. The plastic screw driver vs metal was the final trick due to interference from the metal screwdriver... I feel the average "Small Repairman or Small Dealer will share this info or sell you a used unit that will work. I was given my unit that would not work due to a bad motor capacitor (less than 10.00). Good luck! Loger

I have a problem with my liftmaster 1/2 hp. My house was built in 2005 but im not sure what year the opener is, but my remotes do not work and my hard wire button doesnt work but is blinking. My sensors that detect objects in the way still blinks if i put my leg or something in the way but light bulb on the lifter itself doesnt work and it is a good bulb. and i plugged other objects like a fan or charger or something in that outlet on the ceiling that the lifter is plugged in at and it works. when i unplug the lifter the hard wire button light goes out and when i plug it back up it continues to blink still. What do i need to do?

I have a Craftsman Garage door opener. Model # 30437 I have two of them set up in a two car garage. One works flawlessly. The second one has constant issues. The most significant is that the remote stops working randomly, but only for that door. All remotes continue to work fine for the other door. To clarify, each remote has three buttons (we only use the left and right ones, not the middle) and on both remotes, the one door (always the same one) will no longer be connected but the other one will work fine. For this reason, I do not believe it is a problem with the remotes. We even tried switching which buttons we use for which door and it's always the same door. It seems as though it is randomly resetting itself thus causing the remotes to require reprogramming. Also, on the same door, when the power goes out (even just for a minute or two) the light on the wall button turns off and to get it working again, you have to press it, wait a few seconds and then press it again. The other door opener never has this issue no matter how long the power is out. This is not a big deal but may be indicative of a larger problem.
