Comments (4)well, what about wild carrot, another noxious weed, similar to poison hemlock but no purple spots on the stem. Here is a link that might be useful: wild carrot...See MoreTiny White Flowers On Stalks?
Comments (5)Ahhh...figured it out! "Hedge Parsley is edible. This plant is the forerunner to our present day Flat-leaf Parsley. It is an excellent substitute for domestic parsley, of which your dinner guests will never be the wiser. The leaves of Hedge Parsley look exactly like the domestic variety except it is more widely spaced along the stem and its leaf segments are broader. Preferred habitat is generally roadsides and open fields." http://wildflowers.jdcc.edu/Apiaceae.html Unfortunately, it can also be a huge nuisance as it's what forms those sticky burrs that get stuck on your socks and shoes... Comments (8)This is my first time posting on this forum, hope you don't mind but I couldn't resist when I saw the photo. It looks like what we in Central Texas call "beggar lice," don't know the scientific name. You could call it a wildflower because of its lacy foliage and little white flowers, but it's also an annoying weed that produces copious amounts of slightly barbed seeds, which hitch a ride by clinging to your clothing, to your dog's fur, or anything else it can stick to, thereby broadcasting and reproducing itself to the point that it's almost impossible to control. Every day I hand-pull as many of these as I can and barely make a dent. We spend the summer picking the seeds out of the dogs' ears and off the rugs. They even get in the laundry and stick to the towels. Can you tell I hate these things? But some people like them because they are pretty....See MoreWhat is this? A fern of some kind?
Comments (4)Carrot family, maybe even an actual carrot (Daucus). Otherwise there are many species in the family, included the dangerously poisonous poison hemlock (Conium maculatum) - which is seen rather often in my area at least, including my own front yard in later years! However without doing some comparisons with known examples I would expect a different leaf shape than I am seeing here. Otherwise you can check by seeing if this plant has a funky smell when handled (wear disposable gloves*), purplish botches or spots on the stalks. *I heard from a third party that somebody I know actually got sick recently from pulling a patch out with their bare hands...See Moreplantid1
