All of those are still blooming and I have some more that just started to bloom or they're forming inflos and buds. The weather here is starting to go crazy again so we'll have to see who can finish their bloom before I put them away for the "winter". Loretta to me has a strong sweet scent that's very attractive. It's mixed in with all my other plumies, but it will draw your nose to it every time you get near it. The Pu'u Kahea doesn't have much of a discernable scent. And my NOID has a black licorice possibly cinnamon scent. Normally I hate black licorice and cinnamon, but there's someting about this one that I quite like. ~Jen

Thanks Beth and Seil :) Seil, My Oranges and Lemons is in partial shade, so it stays pretty dark (it ended up in partial shade accidentally after my Carolina Jesamine took over my deck!). This cluster actually has a bit of red it it...very differern! As for Pomponella, it reminds me of a polyantha also. The blooms are slightly larger than most of my poly's, but still on the small side (maybe 1.5 inches across). It lacks that pymamid shape cluster form that many of my polys have though. It puts on a good show a few times throught the summer, but the weight of the blooms always makes the canes droop unfortunetly. Still a really cool and unique rose :) Tammy

Lol..I know Seil! When I first walked over to the plant, I thought it was some weird kind of growth! Took me a minute to figure out what it was too! I also just noticed there's a tiny little clear/white spider hiding in the petals in the Rainbow Sorbet picture :) That's why I don't spray the great majority of my roses; I just love seeing all the little creatures using the plants as homes and playing in the petals (with the exception of japanese beetles, cucumber beetles, aphids...etc...but I just deal with them) Tammy

Some photos from last evening, before it dropped to 42 here. With the cold wet winter last year, then cool wet Spring and Summer ( take that climate change and global warming: bring it on again next year!) we have had a very good late season leaf show. Aphrodite bed had very good leaves and clump growth this year, but limited bloom scapes. One last bloom is trying to open but the rest fizzled. Some photos are not crisp, as the camera started acting up at dusk! Time for a new camera! Lee Armiger (just behind Gold Standard) in front has turned all green but Blue Angel is still quite blue behind it. Sum and Substance trying to take over another garden to the right. This Frances Williams bed held up well this year. It gets some afternoon sun Guacamole has heavy seed set Those big begonia leaves are some very large species plants I picked up in San Antonio Texas a few years ago.. Nigrescens and Striptease held up very well late into the summer. Gold Standard in full afternoon sun has crispy edges. This old Northern Halo clump did very well in this spot - some late afternoon sun. Rough Waters climbing through a cut leaf Japanese maple! Limited sun exposure Krossa Regal in front has lost its blue-grey to a green hue. Kikutii blooming next to an oversize Golden Tiara that is happy!
