For those who's dryer vents have long runs, you must try this
Comments (1)If you have a long run for your vent, they make a vent fan. My hubby will be installing this. Saw it on Ask This Old House. You're right about cleaning vents. Knew someone that lost their house to a fire that started in the vent of the dryer....See MoreClean Dryer Vent & New Washer Belts, SWEET
Comments (2)Yesterday DH went to the automotive store and got two belts and installed them. This is a mistake. Classic two-belt Maytag toploaders MUST use ONLY manufacturer-sourced, Maytag-original belts. Generic or automotive belts should not be substituted. Reason is that the motor-to-transmission belt has a special cloth coating and functions as the machine's spin clutch, is intended to slip on the pulleys while the drum gets up to speed. A non-coated belt will grab instantly instead of slipping, which puts too much bind on the motor and causes high amperage draw, overheating and potential shut-off of the motor....See MoreCleaning the dryer vent
Comments (19)I am also getting this code along with "lint filter" signal light. We have new house, have had the dryer for 3 months. It has been doing it since day one- but more so lately. We had the plumber come in and check if the exhaust vent was clogged(as is gas dryer). It was not- he pulled off the vent exhaust and tested the dryer unvented-it was still giving that same code. So that proves the ventilation is not the issue, but they did check the exhaust to the outside just to be sure & it was not clogged. I had an independent repairman here to check it-first, he points to the ventilation.Say its too long. Mine goes out of dryer 45 degrees down into floor then one 90 degree and straight out (24Ft.) to outside.I believe what runs thru the floor is rigid.Louvers of outside vent seem to blow open unobtructed. So he said he'd try and order me a new sensor. Then Bosch repairman was here.He also commented the ventilation setup is too long (Although the book allows up to 48 feet). He said its not sensor because that isn't used on timed cycle. He said try & wash filter because of the dryer sheet residue. If that don't work will try a new "controll". So I washed the filter with soap and hot water and tried it and its still doing samething. So I called and told them to order the controll.Wait & see. Sorry so lengthy!...See MoreAsko 4114 Washer + T411 Dryer... 3+month experience
Comments (0)Asko W4114 installed mid-June. No problems after 3+ months of use. Using Tide detergent powder, 1 tablespoon each wash. Purchased during 5-year warranty period (now gone). Regular warranty now is 2 years + 1 year if installed by authorized installer. (Something Miele does not have in my area.) Have used some special settings (especially "Shirts") but often just use "Quick." Have run "Clean" cycle at end of July, August, September and will continue as Asko advises "at least monthly" for drum cleaning. Dryer is vented model. That's also running fine. Replaced top loading machines. Washer is much quieter, dryer not as much....See Moreartemis_ma
