Passiflora Caerulea in containers to create a screen?

Hi all,

I asked a related question in 'container gardening' but since this is the home of the passiflora specialists perhaps you can help.

I want to grow something up a trellis at the end of our roof terrace to create a screen so we're not overlooking the neighbours. It needs to be something that can be grown in a series of trough-shaped containers (biggish but not huge). There is a pergola-style roof so if it reaches the top it can climb across that. Our climate is Mediteranean (Italy).

Would passiflore caerulea be suitable for this? We have a one in a tiny pot, purchased in the spring and it's grown vigorously and flowered non-stop, but I haven't seen how it overwinters (although I believe it would be evergreen and hardy in our climate) and I'm not sure how it will cope in containerslonger-term or how big it can get in a pot.

Any guidance appeciated!
