Comments (42)Deb, please don't sit it out, I don't even like fruitcake, but I have the most scrumptous (sp?) receipe for fruitcake cookies you'll ever eat in your life! I have to bake them EVERY Thanksgiving & Christmas! or I'm just a terrible person! lol Will be glad to give it to anyone that wants it. My ex-husbands mother gave me that receipe 25 years ago, and I still to this day sware that Julie & that receipe are the only good things that came from that misery of a marriage! lol Thank God I got me a good one the 2nd go round! Let me know dear, I'll be happy to email it or post it here. But I guess we do need some options, you could send fruity pebbles!?! lol Just so it is fruity!?! Come on now, Deb........See MoreUpdate on Susie53
Comments (12)sue_va, this came on all of a sudden. They did a CTScan and it came back good. Then they did a bone marrow test and we don't have all the results back yet. They did a EKG and there is a heart problem. They say I need a pacemaker. I go see the pacemaker Doctor on Friday. I will know more then. They say my white count is low so they are trying to figure this out. The hematologist (sp) said sometimes when you have chemo it distroyes the white cells. This is his guess. There is no fix for that. I am rarely ever sick and when I am I recover quickly. So I guess we will see on Friday. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers....See MoreSusie53 update.
Comments (8)That's wonderful news. I wish you speedy healing, maybe after a night in your own home you'll do better tomorrow, less pain. I hope this is your answer and you have many, many days of feeling well ahead of you....no more hospital stays ;0)...See MoreSusie53 update.
Comments (15)I am glad you are home and doing better. The pain will go away, and you will feel like a new woman! JoAnn_Fla, I know many people that after the surgery site has healed have no pain from the pacemaker itself. My mom was thin and bony in that area, and complained about it hurting for years after it was put in. But it might also have been something that her mind grabbed hold of to complain about. She has alzheimer's and looking back, it started before she had it put in, and with her, it has been a litany of complaints, continuously. That is just the way the desease has worked on her. Now, she can't even complain. She is sleeping almost continuously, and not eating or drinking, except for tiny tiny amounts. We won't have her much longer. Having said all that about mom, I think that it's possible that the device might be too big for a small person, and cause some pain, but I don't know. I'm not sure how long ago mom's was put in, but at least 5 years ago. They are probably improved so much by now, and made smaller, that it wouldn't be a problem....See More
