I have an all over chinoiserie wallpaper similar in my dining room and it is from the early 80's. I don't know who made it, it is a fabric backed solid vinyl with a slight woven texture. It still looks new. It was very expensive at the time. I think it is just a timeless look. Anyway I am sure a good shop will have something similar- not everyone can pay that much for wallpaper.And no one gets that close to mine to mine to check it out!

Also wallpaper, and even, with some of the images, window film, or tile, glossy or matte. The prices are not cheap but the shipping here is reasonable. I can't attend to their quality myself since I've never ordered from them yet; but the choice is wonderful and dreamy. I definitely stumbled upon more sites, because I love wallpaper and murals, but I can't remember the names right now. I'll add them if I remember. I'd still check Anthropologie from time to time-their inventory of wall coverings is constantly growing lately.

I love wallpaper and have it in most of the rooms in my house. Some of it has been there for decades and is still in excellent condition. Having said this, I have told my children that when they haul me out of here, dead or alive, to remove all the wallpaper before putting the house up for sale. People are terrified of removing wallpaper - think it will destroy the walls (if drywall and not properly primed, it might!), or will cost a fortune to remove. So I told them to only leave the wallpaper in two bathrooms - both are done in a Farrow & Ball strie paper and they make the two baths. As to wallpaper and using it in a bath or kitchen. One is no longer limited to "kitchen/bath vinyl wallpaper. I chose a gorgeous french documentary paper for my kitchen when we were moving here in 1984. I was worried about using it as a backsplash in my kitchen (which is what one did in those days), and a rep in the Brunschwig & Fils showroom in LA, told me to just send it to ResistFlame in Cincinnati. They would coat it with vinyl and I'd be good to go. I did this and have done it many times since. One has a choice of matte finish (my choice) or glossy, and it can be single/double/triple coated depending on the wear/tear one expects it to have to endure. I've always done single coating and that has been fine. It is totally wipeable/scrubable with a Dobie pad. The company is so easy to work with - I usually just have the paper drop-shipped directly to them. They coat the paper and then ship it to me. It's really quite reasonably priced.

The frustrating thing about show houses is that often the various companies -- textiles, wallpapers, flooring, furnishings, lighting etc -- provide their products for free in exchange for the publicity. If you can generate a "WOW" moment the way the laundry room walls clearly do, so much the better. So there are usually a lot of elements that are beyond mere mortals in a show house : ) . The bigger and better the show house, the more keen big companies are to participate, and in this case it was the 40th anniversary of the San Francisco Decorator Showcase with a Classical Revival mansion in Pacific Heights, and as always raising funds for San Francisco University High School’s financial aid program, which has received more than $14 million from the showcase over the years. And not so coincidentally perhaps, de Gournay had, just before the showcase, opened a shop on Presidio Heights. They also provided the hand-embroidered wallpaper for the showcase's living room.
