Remember how much Doc Martin hates dogs? The actor himself actually loves dogs. I recently watched his Netflix video "A Man and His Dog." There are two segments. He has made some other animal videos as well. It's nice to see the other side of Martin Clune instead of that dour grump on the TV show.

I think I'm missing a whole season of the show. Last I watched he and Louisa were living separately.

No way possible the "brilliant" (because it's what the dog says all the time. Although, he really is brilliant at being Kipper) Kipper voice actor could hate dogs ;)

Love, love, love that character. He is a very happy voice from my son's childhood.

It's funny...when I first saw the show I didn't like his gruff persona or the way he didn't want the dog around.....then I saw an interview with the actor, he was warm and loved animals...he was just playing a part...once I realized it was only a role I understood how well he played it. Now I enjoy the show.

I saw him in another pbs series, he is playing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, I had to look twice to make sure it was him lol. He really looks different in that. I liked the Doc Martin series for a while then lost interest in it....I'm not sure why...but I thought about the boots first too when I read the title *snork. :)

Would you believe I was thinking about the series not too long ago, actually remembering some really enjoyable episodes. I have not seen any ads or previews for Doc Martin on our PBS channel(s). Perhaps someday season 10 will be on Youtube? Another 10 years wait. : ( Teeda, I bet baby James is all grown up?

That's impressive, rob. He must be a much nicer guy than on the show! I love it when people use their celebrity for good.

He is the complete opposite! It was really odd to watch him talking in real life and see him on that show, after only knowing his voice over persona. He comes across as super nice guy in interviews, and NOTHING like his Doc character. Even nicer as Kipper

I saw the show he did on work horses. He owns a couple of Clydesdales and several other horses on a big farm. I want to see the show about dogs. He seems to be a completely different person than the character he plays on Doc Martin. He has a very nice smile, lights up his whole face.

Love Doc Martin. I've seen several of his documentaries about animals, and he is a genuinely nice, concerned man. And he smiles a lot!

He was very natural in the dog program. You could tell his awe and delight were genuine.

I'll definitely watch the horse program. Love those big horses. Will check out other movies he has made.

I looked him up: he's 54 years, on his second marriage and has one daughter.

I keep having shows presented as a series get by me also. Often something recently encountered will not be new. Although sometimes the broadcasting of it is a debut even though it dates from a few years back. And they keep showing old episodes out of sequence - the last time I watched Doc Martin it was likewise from the time when the couple was living apart.
