toggle spray on pull down faucets

We currently have a Hansgrohe faucet and hate the feature that if you use spray function, you must turn off faucet to return to stream. Looking for new faucet and Grohe faucets have mixed opinions online--some customer comments say they have same feature and some say you can change spray to stream without turning off. Has there been an update in their design?

I would certainly stay away from Grohe while the company works out its problems and gets comfortable with its new Japanese owners.

Hansgrohe, famous for its hand showers, has never had a good kitchen spray -- don't know why. The company certainly has the know-how.

Try theIn2Aqua Edge. It toggles between spray and stream without having to turn off the water. In22aqua is a new German company that makes the most impressive line of faucets we have seen in quite a while.

Of course, the master of the spray faucet is Moen. Al Moen essentially invented the kitchen spray, and the company has been improving on it ever sense.

I'll pipe in to suggest a look at Kohler's Artifacts pull down. :)

I've been using my new Artifacts for about a week. Two of the three spray settings (stream and "berry spray") stay on and can toggle back and forth without having to turn the water off. The fan spray, however, requires you to hold down the button to keep it in that mode. This looks to me to be a well made, quality faucet that will perform beautifully for many years.

Thanks so much, very helpful -- I had no idea a pull down and a pull out were actually two different things! That thread link was so helpful, really! So I think I am going to choose a pull-OUT as I don't want a gooseneck shape and the pullouts I've seen on FaucetsDirect are the ones I naturally gravitate toward. Thanks for your help, and also for making me think about the button that can hold the spray for me. Who knew choosing one little faucet would be so involved! Now I have to start thinking about the bathroom faucets.... :-)

We don't find it to be a detriment. We chose our Grohe Ladylux Cafe because it felt good in our hands, and ergonomically seemed like it would work really well (e.g. size-wise, getting inside smaller pots and pans, and the tight corners of our sink). We didn't (still don't) LOVE the look of our faucet (they've since come out with a sleeker version), but for a kitchen workhorse, went with function over form. The need to hold down the spray button wasn't a big factor in that decision.

Thank you both so much!! Those faucets look great - and probably confirm my suspicion... that all my stress about this is unnecessary... pps7 - what is your faucet? Also, do you have the same faucet on your prep sink? I'll have a 15x15 prep sink a similar distance away from the main sink and wasn't sure if I should go with the same faucet or a smaller version. circuspeanut - do you have a prep sink? If so, what did you do for your prep faucet? Also, are the little buttons next to your faucet airswitches for your disposal? I hadn't heard of these until recently and I'll have three windows in front of our sink so they may be a good option for us. What do you think of them? Any problems? Thanks!!

i have the delta trinsic with no problems at all. i love the faucet but what really sold me on delta is the customer service. i have a 15 year old house with builder grade delta shower faucet hardware. i called delta because one shower handle was cloudy and they sent me a new one immediately. i also called to get a new spout with the same wonderful cs and part sent for free. i am a delta fan!

My Hansgrohe toggles between stream and spray and the spray is excellent. It's the Citterio M.

Go for in2aqua...they are made in Bavaria, Germany and are quite impressive!
