Comments (247)Ah darn! No, this was a learning exercise. I'm in Scotland so the plant was growing in doors and I never even thought to pollinate the flowers until the lady minute so this is the only fruit I managed to get! Now it's stuck half green half orange! Pretty disappointed that it's an unrecognisable pepper!! Oh well thanks for the help though....See MoreCarolina Reaper anomoly
Comments (13)Hardening off is as TechnoChimp said above. However, I would do it different (I am no expert my any means). First question I really have if they are still inside and that big, do you have a fan on it blowing? If not do that NOW. The fan will help strengthen the stalk and get it more prepared for the outside winds and it helps with the growth. I put an oscillating fan on all my plants for 2-3 hours a day ( this is just what I do so take this advice with a grain of salt...) When it comes time to harden of, I take the plants outside on a nice/calm day and start with 5 minutes at a time, in shaded/partial shade (No direct sun for the first 30 minute total day). Each day I increase that time until I am up to an hour or so a day. Once this is done, you would be safe to plant outside as long as the temps are good during the day AND night. This is just what I do and it works great for me. Bill...See MoreIndoor Carolina Reapers
Comments (7)Flower drop probable causes: 1. Day temp too high >95F 2. Night temp too low 85F 3. Too much nitrogen fertilizer 4. Too much water 5. Low light levels (reduces fertility). 6. Very low humidity (reduces fertility) 7. Poor air circulation (air circulation contributes to pollination). 8. Lack of pollinating insects. 9. Size of pot Too much mineral in feedwater. Too much grower attention/anxiety....See MoreTime Lapse Video of Carolina Reaper Sprouting
Comments (42)I have tried that method over and over again... but I think my computer, or the program, just isnt powerful enough to handle 13,000 images. Also, movie maker requires 0.03 seconds as the minimum, which is 33fps - 6.5min of movie. I kinda want it to go much faster than that. about 1.5min? But I dont know... my program keeps crashing....See Morebaran_yetkin
