no, these were the craigslist photos (which I downloaded and stared at every day for a week leading up to the purchase). My bedroom has wood floors, and I am interested in getting an area rug of some sort.

For me, I'd like to make sure the eye is drawn to those pieces and keep most everything else fairly simple. So for bedding, I'd probably go w matelasse, so you have texture, but no pattern, and in whatever color you love. I think the furniture can handle color, but not as much pattern. I think the bee fabric is lovely, can definitely work with the furniture, as the bees are small. I think it is important to incorporate things you love, so each time you see it, it makes you happy inside.

The art print is fantastic. I personally really love British WW2 propaganda posters, especially the careless talk series.

I think you should look for bedding you love. Something without pattern would look good, but I think that very strong wood pattern (especially so much of it) could stand up to some strong color and pattern, too, especially if you can incorporate some of the tones of the wood itself. Are there particular colors you love?

I second no pattern as well -- let that set be the "star" of the room. But you can do color just not busy colored patterns IMO.

With white walls, your color and pattern has to come from the bedding and art. Even the lamps can be colorful ceramic ones.

The veneer has chevron, diamond and the grain makes a narrow stripe. Strongly geometric.

This might not work, but try diamond, chevron or narrow stripes in colors to go with the print.

How about this bedding in the rust color to pick up on the color in the print. It echoes the pattern in the wood without being too busy.

OMG, that is truly one drop-dead gorgeous set of furniture! I agree that with all the (wonderful) pattern in the wood, you should keep your bedspread or comforter unpatterned. Bring your color in with your art (love your art print!), rug, lamps, rugs, etc. A throw pillow or three for the bed in some era-appropriate patterns would be great. What about bark cloth?

Anyhoo, just promise us that you'll keep us posted with more pics as you proceed. I, for one, am anxious to see these stunning pieces in a finished room someday.

I immediately thought of Art Deco style pieces to decorate with but then read that the set is from the 1940's. I agree, simple decor.

I was feeling nostalgic for the Design Around This threads, so overkill. The first two use your ideas for art and chair fabric. The third one goes off in a blue direction and replaces the fabric and art with something in the blue color scheme.

I like the above using blue to tie things together .... maybe aqua

Oh man, that is just gorgeous. No, I don't have room in my bedroom for everything, so it will be split with the guest room until I have a master bedroom big enough. I love that hanging rug though. I like the idea of bold bright colors and round shapes with the dark geometric wood.

I use Olioboard for mood boards (web based), but other people have gotten great results using Word or PowerPoint.

Do u have a picture of your finished room? I'm picking up my nan and pops set which was a wedding present from my great great uncle. Need inspiration on bedding colours.
