Panini
Comments (8)Bri - - Carrie : I've put this in before but in case you missed it. I use the same ingredients but I use the Wafflebaker to cook them. You can nuke the onions and freeze them, then all you have to do is brown them slightly. This is only a small Panini, snack. I butter the outside and sprinkle with Garlic Powder, before I put it in the Waffle Baker. When I use 2 Half round pieces it fills grids. Makes a nice Design. A Belgium Waffle Baker may be better. I use the Standard. LOU...See MorePanini Press You Love?
Comments (29)Retested and sparks every time. The plug has a handy loop configuration -- a great feature -- but after checking around I realized one of my microwaves has a 1300 watt sensor and this grill is 1500 watts -- more powerful than the micro. Imagine pulling the plug out of the micro while it was running. Dang. I was planning to use as an indoor grill during the winter and have bays scallops marinating. I have a smoothie and it can sit right under the vent -- convenient. Dial, switch, whatever. Can't speak for anyone else (and I'm glad rhome's isnt a problem) but I'm not pulling plugs from a 1500 watt appliance while it's running. I didn't see any "low" setting -- there's panini and sear and in between but no low marking/temperature at all. Who designs this way? I cannot imagine what they're thinking. My sister has a Cuisinart which she uses daily and likes. It doesn't have the adjustable lock-in height feature of the Breville, which seems very good. She says teflon wore off her first one though the second seems to be OK. That's the GR-4N. Planning to take a look at it. thanks mtnfever and mpagmom. Sooo disappointed. Comments (14)We did it!!! After reading all of your suggestions about security, coding and plug-ins, etc., I realized that I was in way over my head technically! I emailed Nephew and offered to pay him to fix and finish this for me. He was so sweet and told me that he'd be more than happy to do it, and no way was he wanting any payment for it. He's such a busy guy, with his job, new house and a great wife. As I mentioned earlier, he was so sweet to help me start this back in December, and I've been trying to finish it up on my own ever since then. But WordPress had me so confused! Anyhoo, I told him what you all suggested and he fixed everything for me! And when he went back in yesterday to make the changes, he said that he was really impressed with what I'd done with the blog and that it looked fantastic. I am so relieved and happy that he likes it, as he does this for a living, working for some tech company in Denver. He told me that he's had to go in and fix or help companies and individuals start up their own websites and blogs and mine is the nicest he's ever seen. And so, many thanks for helping me with this. I am very, very grateful. Our clinic's blog website is now ready for our patients and I can breathe again! Lynn...See MoreStove top panini/ grill sandwich pan and press
Comments (6)Jim Mat is right, but the advantage of a pan and press is you're not limited by the size of your bread. I have a small Le Creuset grill plate which I like because it has smaller ridges, but I don't know if it's available anymore. The grill pan would work fine. The press has the larger ridges and I used it a lot in my old kitchen, and haven't seen it since the remodel! It worked really well on the gas. Heat each piece up on a separate burner, and when they're both good and toasty, put the sandwich between. Have the patience to reheat the press (and grill/pan) for a second sandwich. I don't know how well it would work on electric or induction. Probably fine. You could also heat the pieces in the oven. All of the brands you mentioned are good to top quality and I don't think there would be much difference if they're all enamelled. Is the All Clad? I wouldn't go with a non-stick, but perhaps those are better now than they used to be, and I don't think bare steel would be great. If the Lodge is bare iron, you'll have to season it well, of course. The black enamel of the Le Creuset doesn't require any treatment. I imagine Staub is also enamelled. Hint: Cleaning them used to make me nuts. I finally found the best way was with an old fashioned nylon bristle dish brush. Now it's easy!...See More- 9 years ago
