Or have a garage sale and mention them, sales around my area that mention LB baskets always get a big response, but people expect some good prices. There are also secondary markets and resellers online, not sure how they work but some might list them for you, or buy them from you and list for sale themselves with a bit of markup. My sister used to a dealer and quit when her babies started arriving. She sold many of hers just in her local paper and did pretty well. Long shot but if you're in the Dresden/Zanesville area of Ohio there are lots of secondary market stores there that buy baskets....See MoreRemove old Med. Cabinet for Built in ?
Comments (0)Hi I am needing to tell the GC this tomorrow...Currently I have a long and narrow medicine cabinet with a typical glass door. I am thinking of removing this unit and just having a built in put in it's place. I thought I could put a Longaberger Basket on each of the 4 shelves. Do you think this will look weird? It will essentially turn into a niche right by the sink - a long one though. Anyone have a pic of what I am describing? Not sure if seeing the baskets will look sloppy or busy.....I guess I am tired of the typical glass medicine cabinet door..Any ideas??...See MoreStaining a Longaberger/maple basket?
Comments (3)Ginger is right, if you are staining a real Longaberger basket - you will destroy any value of it and some are worth some $$$ now. If that isn't of any importance - and you want the basket stained - I would not use a waterbased stain - but a oil based stain. I have stained baskets many times and just use regular oil based stain. Use a foam brush and do both the inside and outside, using a generous amount. It should stain evenly...just wipe off the excess with an old towel. It will be messy and smelly. Do this outside if possible and let the basket dry in a garage or such if you can for several days. I have several Longaberger baskets, and I use them all the time. I don't keep them as a collector item, but use them as intended. When they get dirty, I wash them using a gentle stream of warm water and a small amount of soap. I towel dry them and set them outside to dry on my porch. They are very durable....See Moredeeinohio
