Comments (5)Hey Ladies ... I was just getting myself under control (grin) Now this link appears. I'm just not a well woman when it comes to some plants! :0) BTW Sat. found my way to the place Angelsmell recommended. Was going to buy small DR for $4.99 nice looking until I saw the BIGGEST adenium around here. From soil to top of plant 17-18 inches). Width 15". 8 thick branches covered with lots of big healthy leaves and on top of it all lots of very dark red buds. The caudex huge, roots breaking out of 8-10" pot bottom. Had to have it esp. for $23.00! That's why I thought I had this all out of my system til "BOB"!! ROFLOL. Thanks (I think), Gloria...See MorePeaches & Cream Corn
Comments (21)GGG or FL (???) Sounds like a trip of a life time. Glad you returned safe to a loving hubby who cared enough to take care of things in your absence. Shame on him if you had returned to find droopy plants... I am not much of trip type guy either although we did take a week trip about 3 years ago up to the Smokey Mountains and to the Biltmore House. That place is amazing! Sampled their wine, but too dry for my taste. Guess I prefer the homemade wine... I am not very cultured. Wow! 18 hours of daylight! How did your body adjust to it? Next time be sure ESH goes along... she is good at stomping to let the critters know you're coming and I consider her the resident native plant expert. When she starts about those plants... I can understand a few words like AND, BLOOM... that's about it... lol It's heck to be a big dummy like me :( Saw on the news this morning where 2 young ladies had gotten off the hiking trail and survived about a week in the Alaskan wild. That must have been a hair raising experience... Good to see you back safe and sound. Photos always welcome.. (hint hint) Shot...See MoreOh my gosh, oh my gosh...I am floating on air....
Comments (13)1Kgrace345, I kept going back and forth pondering over getting a Presto canner or the All American...I really could have gotten the Presto many years earlier, but I wanted to save my money and just wait. I have two mirro canners that I have had since I was married in 1970 that my grandmother gave to me that she used and they were literally falling apart. The handles were gone, and they no longer had handles to replace them, so I was having to lift the pot by the hot metal...last year I burned my hand really bad...but I kept on canning. I just bought those new gloves made out of well, what ever that is...my brain just backfired...I hate when that happens...darn it. My husband (behind my back) took them both to the dump...that made me really MAD because they were my grandmothers, and I would have like to have kept them for old times sake, anyways. But, he bought me this new one today..and I just about had a flying flip when he said we were going to town to get one...I got ready faster than lighting! I understand how you would still feel like you were a proud parent of your All American, lkgrace!! LOL If my husband wasn't looking at me on the way home I would have petted mine...LOL!!!...See MoreI have peaches, cream cheese, SCM. Do me.
Comments (11)Yum, that looks good. Someone here posted a recipe for peaches & cream pie that our family loved. I really need to keep better records of where my recipes come. You didn't have enough peaches probably, & didn't mention pudding mix, but... Peaches & cream pie 3/4 c flour 1/2 t salt 1 t baking powder 1 (3 ounce) pk non-instant vanilla pudding mix 3 T butter, softened 1 egg 1/2 c milk 3 c sliced peaches, drained/syrup reserved 8 oz cream cheese, softened 1/2 c sugar 1 T sugar 1 t cinnamon Set oven at 350. Grease sides and bottom of a 10" deep-dish pie pan. Mix flour, salt, baking powder and pudding mix. Mix in butter, egg and milk. Beat for 2 minutes. Pour mixture into pie pan. Arrange the peach slices on top of the pudding mixture. Beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons reserved peach syrup. Beat for 2 minutes. Spoon mixture over peaches to within 1 inch of pan edge. Mix together 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and sprinkle over top. Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Chill. With fresh peaches, slice them, cover with some sugar & let set to form syrup. Good with strawberries too to...See MorePrettypetals_GA_7-8
