I am tired of my mop heads blooming so late with so few
Comments (32)I have ES growing in 2 different places: one is on the Notrh-East side of the house and another one is on the West-facing side. And they are so different that almost feels like 2 different varieties. This is how ES from West side looks like (it is smaller, leaves are somewhat paler, but blooms reliably every year): And this is my ES from the Notrh-East side. In fact , these are 3 hydrangeas planted in a row. They are much taller, with dark-green leaves and have fewer flowers between three of them than the one growing on the West side. Also, their flowers are mostly hidden in the foliage. These ones get more attention than their sister: they get fertilized with liquid 20-20-20 at least once a month, while the one above gets a handful of granular fertilizer in spring and thatâÂÂs it: This post was edited by green_go on Sat, Jul 26, 14 at 22:24...See MoreIt was so hot in those days, and I was so busy that
Comments (16)Thank you, Wildflower and Karyn, I went out last evening and brought the blooms in, and I do in fact have a CG AND a JY. Then I watched the weather forecast for last night. We had our first freeze. So, I brought my new buckets in the kitchen, got my loppers and rose pruners out, and started bringing in brug trunks and limbs. Now my kitchen counters look like several of your greenhouses. Glad that I figured out last week what "above the Y" meant, and now I have above the Y cuttings, as well as 4 foot sections of the trunks in a new white garbage can. I left some trunks and blooming parts on the plants in case the 31 degrees temp does not put the plants into dormancy. Now I feel more a part of the brug experience, a process that only started this past spring. This is such fun. I'm so glad that there are so many delightful people on this forum. It makes life better. Jim...See MoreSo much to share so I better start posting! (Loaded)
Comments (18)Wow, it's amazing how fast the threads move these days...my post was already down near the bottom so I rescued it just in time...LOL. THANK YOU for commenting and for your enthusiasm. After lugging an unending chain of garden hoses from garden to garden for 4 1/2 hours to water everything I really appreciate positive feedback! mantis....the last rose pictured (palest pink)is Austin's 'Belle Story'. And yes, that is Rosarium Uetersen in the cat patrol photo. It is immediately recognizable, isn't it? Great color that lights up a garden. Thanks again everyone....and YES, I am exhausted. Comments (12)thanks, everyone, for the helpful comments! cpartist....unfortunately, this stone yard does not carry Neolith or Dekton although they both carry some beautiful options. I will need to choose something that they have available in their warehouse. Joseph....According to the stickers when they arrived at my house, the slabs were from the same "lot." It's a very odd situation in that when you are close up to the slabs, they appear to be almost a dead on match, but the further you step away, the worse they look. And unfortunately, you can see the mismatch from my front entry. I actually think Caesarstone is covering these slabs, bc there was a rep at my house. As far as size, the island is 64" x 154." I think we could seam by the sink (which is currently a seam) and the length would be ok, but isn't the width still too close to cut? They seemed concerned about this originally because of the mitering. I'm not sure how that translates during fabrication. eam....you are right in that my choice in stone supplier/fabricator. I feel very lucky that they are honoring their work. Thankfully, they have a good relationship with my builder, who is also wonderful. I believe that has made a tremendous difference. As far as the butcher block, that is an interesting suggestion. I think I need some time to consider that; it might be a good option for me....See MoreShades_of_idaho
