Should I plant dichondra carolinensis? x-post in natives

I need a ground cover to
replace the current grass that requires a lot of upkeep (fungus, too wet,
too dry, poor clay soil despite soil amendments).

My incomplete searches leave me
confused as to whether to use Carolina ponysfoot. It supposedly is native
to this area even though I've never seen it.

So here are my questions:

How invasive is it?

Is it evergreen in zone 6b?

Will it tolerate full afternoon
sun, depending on the season?

Will it tolerate foot traffic
(dogs)?

I will amend the soil (again),
but what is the upkeep?

Should I just stick with
lyre-leaf sage?

Any other info would be
appreciated or suggestions for native alternatives.

Thanks in advance for any help.
