There's Still Some Beauty in My Garden, How About Yours?
Comments (27)Pamela, thank you and I promise to write it down this time. :-) Blackcatgirl, your Elle is very pretty. I agree, Gean has a wonderful way with words. Patricia, I can assure you that you do not want to see a photo of my garden right now. The spots have spots. The big picture isn't lovely but there are areas that are beautiful in the midst of the general untidiness from falling leaves and fungal ridden roses. My RdO didn't rebloom very well until the past two years. She took a long time to get around to blooming much but she has been constantly blooming this summer. Always a few blooms, often lots of blooms. Do you think she would do better with a little more time? It's good to see you posting. I miss you! Lordy Hamp, that is a gorgeous big ole girl. She really does like the south. Post as many "huge" pictures as you would like. I've got to remember the "Monster Tillier" :-)My LH has also covered herself with buds just in the past two days. Her last hurrah I guess. I love it that you managed to talk Randy into a rose just as a side note.... Thank you Randall, I'll try to find that lavender. Where you gonna put your Ducher? :-) Lux, I love jasmine. I have Carolina and Confederate jasmine. I wish I could grow lemons here. When I was in California, Carol made us the most wonderful lemon dessert from Meyer lemons from her very own tree. I was most impressed. Your garden sounds lovely. I love reading about all of your gardens! Off to bed. Another long day of work tomorrow. Carol...See MoreHow about some new variegated conifers?

Comments (11)Iris, good to see you here! I hadn't heard of Ghio but I'll definitely be looking up some more of his/her creations! Love that Bubbling Over and also Be Original. Beverly Sills is one that I have ordered from Breck's but didn't get (mislabel). Perhaps one day I'll add it - have you found it's lived up to the accolades? Babbling Brook looks absolutely lovely. I like Blueberry Filly too - I've spent a fair bit of time looking at Kasperek's creations online. Do they grow well for you? I really like the broken colour patterns, and as an animal person (and a silly person), his names carry huge appeal for me....See MoreMy new rose starts to how some yellow dead leaves.
Comments (7)I received this girl in a gallon pot and planted it in the big container about a month ago with some damaged leaves, and these damaged leaves fell off after couple of days. Two weeks ago, we found her having powdery mildew, and it was spreading fast. She seems like having no problem growing which she’s already double the size. I’m giving her neem oil treatment once a week right now for the powdery mildew for 2 weeks now, and the yellow leaves started to show in the last 2 days. The new grows on top is looking healthy, but some of the new grows at the bottom kept having problems like curved leaves and yellow fell off leaves. I water her well, and full sunshine here in California. It looks like all the problems are happening at the bottom part of the plant....See MoreEdward_Kimball
