Here's what Tammy, the queen of dehydrating, has to say about herbs. "Dehydrate2store" "Prior to dehydrating, never chop or cut any parts of the herb that you will be dehydrating (leaves, petals, etc.). This will release oils and reduce the flavor of your finished product. Instead, dry the plant as a whole and then break or crush after fully dehydrated. Keep your dehydrator between 90-100�F when dehydrating herbs. If you wash your herbs first, dry any excess water (hang upside down to air dry or fold between a paper towel) from your herbs before placing them in your dehydrator." From me, Basil does have oil in it, and it can take longer to dry. BUT 12 hours is way too long so I would guess it's either the oil, or maybe too wet when put in? Also, the larger the leaf, the longer it takes. I would also bet that humidity may be a factor too. All in all, Good luck! Hey, all that oil will mean some great tasting basil though!

Time with my plants (and here talking about them...) is time "in the zone." There are busy times when it almost feels like a "chore", but it's almost always my escape from life's chores. As long as you keep your collection manageable, you'll find it's your escape. If it gets too large (which mine did at one time), then it becomes a burden. That's one of the reasons it's better to "grow" it over time rather than trying to jam everything you can into your collection as fast as possible. Just my two cents... Denise in Omaha

Its a Trane heater/air conditioner. The whole thing is under warrenty. I live in SJ. I own. When it gets cold outside (below 20 degrees) the vents blow out cold air. The air does not shut off like it normally would when it reaches temperature. I turned on the emergency heat and it was still blowing out cold air. It all depends on the coldness outside - something isnt right. The installer said it needs more electricity between the heater and my apartment. (The heater is downstairs - outside). I live on the 2nd floor. I was told this unit is too big for what i need and thats why i need more electricity. My old heater was very old - but I never had this problem... thanks for any help

Thanks to all for the well wishes. The wedding was beautiful although the weather was not. They made the decision to bring the wedding inside at about 4:00 yesterday. The weather looked like rain and they didn't want to chance it. I will learn how to post pictures tonight or tomorrow. Really tired right now. Only one incident happened. Ha Everyone was leaving around 11:00 and the bride went over to the small building where she had dressed. She had a little too much to drink and thought she would lay down for a minute. In the mean time, my son was told that she had left to go to the bar where they were all going next. So he loaded his vehicle up with the unused beverages and the brides mother and I took the cake and some remaining food and we went to the hotel where we were staying. Well we learned this morning that when my son got to the bar, his lovely new bride wasn't there. Just then, his phone rang and it was the bartender and she said, "Well you got all the alcohol and food, but guess what, your bride is still here". There she was the last person there besides the bartender. Oh boy what a way to start a marriage. LOL
