I think it's a great idea to make it shallow, that way things don't get lost in there. I would line the inside with melamide laminated boards, if you want it practical and economical. Other wise, you could use a laminate, like formica, on the inside. That would make it easy to clean. Depending on your style, you can make it look sleek, by making the door a touch latch, (no visable knob). You can make the rest of the wall panels, that match the material of the door, so that the door just blends into the wall. Or, along the same concept, you can make the whole room have raised panels that are the same as the door. If you need to economise, you could make the raised panels tromp loile, (painted illusion).

My son's friend made prototypes of doors using this material and sold a few. They are perfect for this application! If you or anyone else has or gets this... please post pics. I am considering it as well.

We didn't reface, but we got our cabinets through Barker. Barker Doors opens both doors and veneer.

I am struggling to figure out what size cabinet handles should I get for my tall cabinet doors. The cabinets will be 72" height, 38" width and 13" depth. Will 8"-9" length handles (7"-8" between bolts), be too large? or will 7" length (6" between) be appropriate? I am interested in long pull handles as the cabinet doors are tall. Any advice appreciated. Thanks, Cooks.
